It ’s more expensive than your average mat, but it ’s the one that has performed the best for me. It ’s tacky and holds up to heavier use( i. e. hot yogas and/or bikram). It is higher maintenance than your cheaper,$ 10 mats, but those mats also don ’ t last very long and contribute extra to the landfill. Sustainability, performance, durability, and American, so I ’ m still into it. And, yeah, the smell goes away.

This is the best yoga mat I have ever owned! It is very grippy in my vinyasa class and I always feel secure and confident on my mat during heated classes and doing balance work. The purple mat is a beautiful color and wipes clean with a damp rag. The mat does smell a little like rubber when you first get it, but that dissipates in about a week. I ’ ve had these for 3 years in my basement for my rack and are durable to an extent. I wouldn ’ t recommend slamming 45+ pound dumbbells on them unless they are rubber. Doing deadlifts 225+ pounds is fine but I would say support it with shock tiles. I would recommend sweeping or vacuum it often since it ’s common sense to keep the floors clean. I haven ’ t had much problems with them besides the strong odors but that ’s what RUBBER smells like when it ’s still fresh. Matter of fact, that ’s what a gym smells like. Overall, best mats I ’ ve used so far.
