I go on birdwatching trips, and on a bird- watching Safari, we were advised to be sure the hat we wore would n't obstruct the view of others in the vehicle, so I chose this hat. I have three of these hats. I keep one in the car and one in my backpack so I always have it on hand. I am a redhead and these do the best job of protecting my neck, scalp, and face of any hat I have owned. I also love the folding brim so it can go in a pocket. It stays on well in windy conditions if you snap it under your chin. I wish it came in more colors. Fun ones. I would love orange or teal or fuchsia.

The Ultra Adventure is my fifth Sunday Afternoons hat-- and my first in this style. The other four are the Sport model. I got my first one eight years ago for sun protection and haven ’ t been without one since. I burn easily, and after dealing with some retina issues from bright light, I ’ ve gotten very serious about protecting my eyes. I also walk a lot near lakes and other water, where the sunlight can be really intense. These hats do a great job covering my face and helping block glare.( I still wear sunglasses too for extra eye protection.) They fit true to size. My head is fairly small and I wear the Small/Medium. One small note-- the slider in the back tends to loosen easily, so I secure it with a quick stitch of thread and that takes care of it. They 're super easy to clean. I just soak them in enzyme- based laundry detergent for a few hours or overnight, rinse well, and hang to dry. Even after all these years, my hats still look great. I keep buying them because I like the colors, and I ’ m trying this style for a little more coverage. Highly recommended for solid sun protection, especially for your face!

I have been looking for the perfect visor for several years after my favorite was discontinued. Most of the ones with wider brims were just too big and made me look silly. I have a very small face. And you take off in the wind like the flying nun. These visors are the perfect length for keeping the sun out of your eyes. I love the lightness; however, I ’ m not sure how they will fair in strong winds. I also wish they had more colors to choose from. I like the light gray, however, it didn ’ t allow me to tighten it enough; The light purple was easier to tighten to my needs. I bought this hat to replace a standard cap i was wearing with my raincoat to keep rain out of my face and it works like a dream! The old cap would start leaking and inevitably stop serving a purpose. But not this one! I have worn it on a couple hikes too! I got this hat because the brim is slightly smaller than my full on sun hat, so it ’s not as awkward to wear in the car or indoors, but still provides a good amount of sun protection. I got the goldenrod color, and it ’s a little darker in person, but still a cool color. It does seem to run a little small compared to my other hats of the same size, so if you ’ re in between sizes, probably best to size up. Oh, and the sunglasses holder is awesome!
