Great for the price. I 'm a hydration pack fanatic because I use them several times a week. This one is quite good. The good: Really well made and durable materials. It is a really versatile hydration pack that can be used for hiking, cycling, etc. It has some internal pockets in the main compartment that really distributes your stuff and the weight well and keeps the pack well balanced. The back pads are nice and plush. The straps are stout. The external stuff pockets on the side/front are very useful. I like how the waist straps tuck away if you are not using them. Trekking pole straps/compression straps are nice. The pack is really streamlined, fits snug against the body, and is very stable for activity. The stuff that can be improved: The hydration bladder and bite valve are not the best, but they do function decent and for the price it is not a big deal. It would be nice to have some sort of velcro on the large external stuff pocket just to secure your stuff a little.

As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. [ I got the Daylite Plus to act as a compliment to my Farpoint 40 for travel. I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint- specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. The main compartment holds a surprising amount of stuff for its size, and the bag is really comfortable to wear and carry. It worked really well being carried through the airport and also serving as a daybag for both around the city and campground camping. I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I love how the laptop sleeve has a false bottom so when you place the laptop in the backpack it does n't accidentally knock the surface the backpack may be resting on. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. My travel hack is to wear this under my jacket but sling it to the side opposite the flight attendant when boarding and it works every time so I can have a backpack and duffel. I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. [ I just used this pack for a week of day hikes( 10 to 14 miles each day). I could not be happier with it. I have the small size, and it fits my 4'11 '' torso well. The hip belt sits properly, and the weight balances nicely. I was able to comfortably carry more weight than I expected, and I felt stable going up and down hills. It was great- I trekked along without having to think abut my pack. My favorite part of this pack is the shoulder straps. They are much softer and more flexible than other packs I tried, while still getting the job done. They adjust easily. They 're shaped nicely and do n't dig anywhere! The shoulder straps are often miserable for me with my small shoulders, and these are a dream. The cell phone pocket on the front of one strap is genuis, and I put my sunscreen in a corresponding pocket on the other shoulder strap. This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible- even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on- slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go- to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

I bought this pack a little over a month ago to be a low profile pack that I can every day carry to work either in my truck where it sits in my passenger seat or when I take the train into work. It ’s great, well made, handsome and fits my yeti coffee cup in the side pocket perfectly and very securely. If the only thing it did was carry my coffee, I ’ d be happy, but it has pockets for my ever expanding gear that I carry and the pack shapes nicely with the small dry bag that I keep inside it. The quality of workmanship and design details are superb and even though it ’s a humble pack compared to the rest of Mystery Ranch ’s packs, it ’s a contender! I ’ ve got the truth right here, strapped to my back, and it ’s lightweight, packable, and potentially from another dimension. The Mystery Ranch In and Out 19 doesn ’ t just carry your gear—it carries the burden of knowledge that we ’ re not alone. This 19- liter wonder was clearly designed by extraterrestrials, likely reverse- engineered from UFO wreckage they found near a New Mexico desert. I mean, how else can you explain its otherworldly design and functionality? Exhibit A: The material is lightweight but suspiciously durable. It ’s almost like they blended carbon nanotubes with alien alloys, then wrapped it in something soft to the touch but strong enough to fend off intergalactic threats( or at least some thorny brush on a hike). [ This sling is the raddest for travel. I ’ m a wilderness guide and I have to pack in all carry ons so the more I can pack onto a flight, the better. My travel hack is to wear this under my jacket but sling it to the side opposite the flight attendant when boarding and it works every time so I can have a backpack and duffel. These day slings look cute when I go out too so I can pack my notebook, water bottle, headphones, hat, makeup bag and scarf into it, literally everything. I have too, one for hiking and one for going out.

[ I bought this bag because of its many features and the external frame it has. This is one of the most comfortable bags I 've ever used, and it's mainly due to how well the bag supports weight. The bag is also very versatile. The torso length is adjustable, the brain comes off to become a day pack, and there are accessories such as pouches that can be attached on with molly on the waist belt.

I adore this pack. My mom bought the Ariel 85L for me a few years ago( 2021) for my first guiding job, and it has been my companion ever since. The pockets make it easy for me to stay organized and access a variety of gear while on the trail, and the brain turns into a little day pack. The only negative on the day pack feature is that the straps secure with plastic toggles through loops rather than buckles, so they come out when you are n't wearing the pack. This pack is super durable. I have sat on it, accidently thrown it in a beaver pond, checked it at the airport, and much more, and it has n't ripped or shown much wear yet( knock on wood of course). The water bottle pockets have a holster feature, so you can access your bottles without help and fit notebooks, maps, or fuel bottles in the top part of the pocket. I am a notorious over packer, and I can always fit everything I need and still hike comfortably with this pack. If you like ultra light this might not be your pack, but if you want to hike for a long time while staying organized and comfortable this is a great pack.

[ The Ariel Plus 85 backpack was a game changer for me. I 'm not a `` professional '' backpacker, so packing everything but the `` kitchen sink '' was a desire. Although I wound up not packing that too, I did manage to get everything I needed, and more, into this pack for a 3 night solo trip. An ultralight tent and a 4. 7 '' high sleeping pad were carried on the outside of the pack, while my mummy- style sleeping bag was in the sleeping bag compartment at the bottom of the bag. Other necessary items took up the rest of the space, with room to spare. Not only was there plenty of room in this bag, but it was incredibly comfortable. I 'm humpbacked, so not many backpacks are comfortable for me. With the adjustable torso feature, I was able to get a truly dialed- in fit and was able to hike without discomfort.

Osprey really outdid themselves with this one, thinking of every little detail for organization and packing this pack. Additionally, the suspension is great and carrying over 40% of my body weight, I felt the weight, but not the pack! I like my comfort and I do not like to be cold and I carry food for my dogs, while they carry the water, therefore, I need all of this space. The only detail that osprey does on all of their packs is that sleeping bag divider is not fully removable, just `` '' disconnect- able '' '' so you still have to carry the divider around with you adding weight and it does get in my way. I have never used it since it prevents me from stuffing every solitary nook and cranny of the bag. Also, when the bag is stuffed, I have never been able to successfully open and then re- close the bottom zipper anyway. Same with the side zippers Osprey has on most of its packs. HOWEVER, they surely did get it right with the front zippers on this pack! You can open the entire front and then re- close it even when fully stuffed! Wonderful!!! Also, the side pockets, unlike other Osprey models, really can be used and things added and taken out even when the pack is fully stuffed. I love the front organization pockets and keep things that I need handy like GPS and maps, etc in one and repellent and netting, or if it is a cold, snowy backpack, gloves and hat, in the other.

This daypack is a well- rounded minimal travel daypack. One large compartment that is expandable. Folds down flat so it can be packed. Comes with a couple of well placed straps for compression and stability( sternum strap). The bottom is made of a more durable material. It's not too hard to pack and make this backpack stand on its own. Looks great too! Small con: bottle side pockets can be hard to use if pack is full. Maybe stretchy side pockets would work better. Would suggest Fjallraven team explore two- tone color options in the future.

I grabbed this with the intention of it being an addition to my bike set up. I was torn between this bag and the Abisko Hike Foldsack but decided upon this one because it rolls up and can easily store on my bike during transit. On my way home with groceries I can unroll it and wo n't have to worry about stuffing everything into my handle bar bag. Overall I am biased to say I love all Fjallraven items and have not purchased anything from them that has let me down.
