I am an avid hiker and have always purchased salmon for their quality and comfort and this is probably the worst shoe I ’ ve ever purchased in all my years. They get so hot on my feet so fast and I can not leave them on for more than a 2- 3 hours with just regular socks. After only a month of wearing these the rubber notches on the bottoms of the shoe just started tearing off and now whenever there are rocks or sticks on the path the bottom of the shoe catches on those things because of the hanging notches so I trip so much. There is little to no ankle support and my shoe laces never ever stayed tied no matter how much I tie them. As a person who has always bought Salomon hiking boots I am extremely disappointed. I literally can ’ t even wear these. I have probably worn these less than 30 times since I bought them a year ago and am just using my old busted up Salomon ’s with holes in them and no tread on the bottom rather than these to hike. What a waste of money. Please do not buy.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I bought these for a recent trip to Banff, Canada and they were amazing. They arrived only a few days before the trip so I was worried I would have issues with breaking them in but no problems! We did an 11 mile hike the second day of wearing them and I only got one tiny blister( which let ’s be honest, probably would have happened anyway). The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support.
