I have been waiting for a hooded version of a packable puffer that was still cute, and after enjoying other Halfdays products for skiing, I was excited when I saw this in their spring collection this year. I got this jacket a month ago and since I ’ ve used it during heavy rain in the city and during winter mountain climbs. I can say I ’ ve had no issues with the waterproofing. In the winter mountain, this jacket became irreplaceable for me. Being so light and breathable is such a game changer- I sweat much less, less need to stop for water and I feel much less exhausted. It ’s packing small, so it ’s super easy to fit it in the external pockets of a backpack, so you don ’ t waste any unnecessary time- game changer when you are in the winter mountain. The pockets are awesome and the jacket is super comfortable. I was worried about the Velcro on the cuffs, since a lot of jackets will loosen and let air in between the cuff and your gloves, but the Velcro works super well and gives you a solid locked- in feeling. Last but not least, it beats off strong winds like it ’s nothing. This feature helps you dress lighter, move faster, and get tired less. This jacket improved my performance per unit of effort in the mountain, which is essential since most mistakes happen out of exhaustion. Really happy about my purchase!

I was tired of always getting completely soaked every time I went out in the rain. I had been in the market for a high quality shell and something that was not Gore- Tex( as it is terrible for the environment). I knew that Fjallraven made high quality outdoor gear that was environmentally friendly and sustainable. So I purchased this and have not been disappointed. I have been out in some miserable weather and have had stayed completely dry. My only gripe is the adjusters that cinch the hood down- I have a long neck and sometimes they do not stay in place if you are moving around a lot.

The new 3L Fabric is a huge improvement over the older Foray, it's robust, has just enough stretch, and overall is impressive. I was somewhat hesitant as they moved away from Gore but seeing it in person I am 100 percent a fan and it's better in every way. The only improvement, and OR please make this happen, is the branding. Make a Blacked out version without the contrasting logos, that would put this jacket as the best among the best.

I needed a jacket that would perform in a variety of extreme environments when going inside was not an option. This jacket filled this role perfectly and has kept me dry while exploring the north Maine Woods more recently while hiking through the cloud rain forest in Costa Rica. On a cool rainy day, you can keep warm with all the vents closed and a puffy underneath. While in warmer humid weather, just open the massive vents on the sides and keep dry while still being able to `` breath '' and stop sweat from soaking you from the inside out. It is very weight efficient, easily packed, and well cut for the active user. The chest pocket is also a favorite feature of mine to safely store a cell phone while on the move yet keeping it easily accessible.

I wanted a timeless light jacket for hiking with my dogs that was n't a puffer. This one does not disappoint! I love the Indigo Blue as I gravitate towards cooler colors. I am usually between a small and a medium and got a small for a more fitted look.. I wear it over the grey Fjallraven Snow Cardigan. The hood is spacious enough for a toque and the overall fit is very flattering. For reference I am 5ft4, 140lbs, hourglass body type. Keep in mind this jacket does not have any stretch to it and the shoulders are a bit narrower. The sleeves are nice and long and the length sits just below my waist( I have a short torso). I have been reaching for it since I got it last month. Looking forward to Spring in Alberta to wear it more often!

As always, I ’ m impressed with the quality of these products. I am 5 ’ 2 ” and 112 pounds. The bottom is a little wide, and the sleeves a little long, but the snap closure on the sleeves and the elastic around the bottom bring those things in fine. I ’ m pretty sure I could travel for several months out of this pack, if I stayed in a similar climate zone. I ’ ve been able to carry it on to all of my flights so far, and fits easily in the overhead compartment of the jets I have been on. I had one zipper malfunction of with the top compartment, as the key clip cord was caught in the zipper, and I had to cut the cord to get it open.

I own the Allpa 28L and 35L and this 42L is even greater! It ’s the same great pack but more room and space. Recently took it on a trip and able to carry onboard and fit in the overhead. The materials and compartments are best in the game. A tad bit too big on international flights, but most domestic is fine.
