This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Excellent boots for summer to fall hiking that will last.

I ’ ve worn Salomon boots for years. Since they dont have the older model x ultra mid boots. I decided to try these ones out. They look nice and seem to have all the features from the previous model. However, they have an uncomfortable pressure point located on the inside middle part of both boots. Which makes it uncomfortable to wear as soon as you wear them. These are super comfortable and very lightweight for a mid hiking shoe. The outer is only slightly tougher than a normal running shoe, but waterproof. Of course the outsole is much grippier. Able to wear them traveling all day and be comfortable but they do make my feet sweat a lot. The green color is nice but impossible to keep clean. Had the normal one full day break- in period. This is my third pair and I keep coming back for them. They are rugged and durable and last a little over a year when used roughly for hiking, trail running and slogging through the mud. I compete with these a lot because they keep the water out( unless I go in the streams) and they hold up really well. The soles start to get thinner after 1. 5 years but I have n't found any others that hold up any better and still stay together like these Moab 3's.

Thirty years ago I suffered a severe mid foot crush fracture which is now arthritic combined with areas of non- union. I have worn Morrell Moab 3 ’s for many years with orthotics and had the best support possible, but the antora has given me amazing pain free ambulation while walking our rural property and roads, as well as while shopping and walking the dogs. The shoes are lighter weight, still offer excellent support especially mid- foot, with quicker and easier breakover which makes an enormous difference to my gait and comfort. The prior versions had this strange intense curve in the toe portion( perhaps that was designed to repel water during steps?) compared to an older model that is no longer available. I bought this a month ago and have been breaking it in. They are very comfortable especially for someone like me who has flat feet.
