[ To begin, I have the navigational ability of a drunk 10 year old. After getting a little too turned around in the BWCA on my last trip I decided I prefer my canoe adventures without heckling from wife and we settled on purchasing this bad boy! Easy to use and durable. Battery life is a big plus too as I had this thing on and open most of the time on all of our paddles across big water. It gave me the peace of mind I needed by making it virtually impossible to get lost out there. The Garmin BWCA overlay maps are totally worth it too if you are thinking about it. Going places is easy, knowing where they are is hard. 11/10 would buy again.

[ I bought this as an upgrade from a etrex 20. Mostly used for geocaching and backpacking it does the job extremely well. It plays well with Expert GPS.

[ I bought the eTrex 32x last month. I especially like the 'tracks' feature where I can see exactly the path I have just traveled. This feature has been really helpful on BLM land where their might be many crisscrossing off road dirt paths. Finding the correct ones that you took previously is critical. The tracks feature makes it easy. This GPS is also super accurate. In my initial test I took it on a walk with my dog. Looking back at the tracks I could see where I walked on the sidewalk vs. on the road vs the other side of the road( single lane road). Overall a great little GPS. The only downside is that the screen seems a little small, but that is what you get when you purchase a small unit for outdoor use.
4
david
[ So far, this little unit seems like a great item. Battery life appears good so far, and it has preloaded maps that will work for most. Once I got used to the programs to make maps, paths and such.. I was able to put together a very good set up for an up coming trip. The bad or expected if you already know about GPS's. They are built on like a decade's old tech and they function like a flip phone. These day's most people have their phone on them and generally it works better if you have planned ahead to throw on a ton of downloaded maps, have a ruggedized case and super long battery life. I personally bought this because on a recent trip, we got a bit off of the map we had. We had a general idea where we were going but I had to try to bring up my phone a few times to get maps and positioning. It was lucky that we were on a hill in a bald so I could get signal at all. long story short, my phone battery took a hit and we got lucky that we were able to find the appropriate maps and got back on course. This light weight device will allow me to get my position, look at local trails and measure distance. That's worth the money and the weight.

I go places and do things where there is no cell signal- on purpose. But, I have a Family and they deserve to know I ’ m ok. Additionally, I ’ ve been involved in two different mountain rescue situations, prior to having this device. The functions and capabilities available with this device are exceptional when needed for emergency response.
5
GlenNTX
I purchased the Garmin InReach Mini2 because I wanted a simple solution with good battery life to serve as a one- button lifeline should an emergency ever happen when I ’ m in a remote outdoor area without cell phone service. The new cell phone to satellite text options are good, but it ’s also great to know that that with an InReach device I can instantly alert a team of dedicated professionals who can send help in a true emergency. I like the map sharing features, check- in capabilities, quick messaging, and track- back, all in a lightweight tiny device. The Mini2 also provides a convenient way to communicate with family members via satellite text messaging. This is especially valuable in mountainous regions where cell signals are weak, or in many cases, where there is no cellular infrastructure at all. It pays to plan ahead and avoid dangerous situations to begin with, but sometimes even “ routine ” camping or travel in mountain areas can make emergency communication a vital necessity. This device is good to have at the ready.

I bought it for backcountry snowboarding in the Adirondack ’s and it was super reliable, I was able to send messages to my family with ease and no problems would definitely recommend. I like the app and the preset messages you can create. But be aware there are subscriptions required and there are a limited amount of messages to be sent. They even offer insurence in case you need to be evacuated and they charge you l. They have a plan called SAR and it ’s definitely worth it in case

I bought this watch having come from the original Instinct that I ’ ve had since 2018. It ’s been a great watch. I like that it has the connect IQ to change watches faces. It is also a sharper display. The E has all the features I need. Most of the general population that buys these are not doing extreme hiking or marathons and therefore the E has enough for the gen pop. What I think they dropped the ball on is still having a two week battery. It ’s the same battery life as my original instinct. They cheaped out on that. It ’s should be at least a month battery. The only other “ like ” I would want is to have the torch( flash light) on this one. Outside of that. I really like the watch.

I 've used this so far on two cycling trips. each time it allowed me to stay in communication with my friends and family even when well outside of cell service, and knowing that I could get help if needed, even in the worst of circumstances, give me the confidence to stay out longer and be more adventurous. I had no issues with phone connection so far, and the flexibility to turn my subscription on and off is great too.
5

Even with increasing apple satellite messaging abilities I think a dedicated messenger is great to have. Light and has a long battery life. I like that you can use it to charge other devices in a pinch. I understand why some are critical of this but the ability to charge a headlamp or phone when needed can be just as crucial as having an inreach and the battery life is long enough to do both. The cost of garmin plans have come down but is still a bummer

This is my second inReach- replaced my original Mini with this. The Mini was actually very good- I used it to evacuate a guy from the Grand Canyon last spring- but I hated the Earthmate app and was quite disappointed that the Mini was effectively orphaned by Garmin in that ancient app. It would not communicate with my Garmin watch either. This fixes both problems- the Messenger app is much better and I get notifications on my watch. Battery life is better, it is a USB- C connection( rather than micro), it is almost as small, and still has a tiny screen if your phone dies in an emergency. I do wish the lanyard hole was larger and the device was more thoughtful about how you 'd connect it/mount it/tether it to something else. Common to both devices is being on Iridium rather than Globalstar. I had a pair of Spots years ago and thought they were awful and unreliable with no for- sure confirmation that a message was received and many places in the world without coverage. InReach/Iridium is just solid and reliable everywhere. So those of you that think an iPhone is the cats pajamas for this, well it is on Globalstar. Enough said.

Love this watch. As a regular golfer, I love the battery life and all of the additional “ off the course ” features. This has replaced my Apple Watch as my daily watch. The only downside is that you can not respond to texts/calls when you have an iPhone. I ’ m sure that is Apple ’s requirements and not on Garmin. If that could be changed, that would be a bonus! On the course functions are great. Took me a round or two to get used to it, but once you understand the functionality, it ’s great. I ’ ve messed around with other watches and apps for golf, but I came back to Garmin! Just wish those clubs sensors were cheaper as other companies include them with promos or at least a lower cost. The clarity on the flasher screen is so much better than a traditional flasher unit. It does have great separation capabilities. The lure charge function is really handy. Especially after my buddy dropped his lure charging flash light down the hole! I also like the automatic transducer angle selection of the unit. I must admit I would like an even wider transducer angle for shallow water applications. I do still have much to learn about this product. To that end, I do wish a detailed operations manual was included. I am looking forward to discovering its full capabilities and applications. So far this product meets my expectations( which are high) for a Humminbird product.

The Helix 7 with GPS, Mega down imaging, and Mega side imaging has been a phenomenal addition to my kayak fishing. I no longer feel like I am fishing blindly in the winter when the fish go deep. The `` Mega '' provides extremely detailed views of submerged structure, bottom composition, vegetation, and identify fish well beyond what I imagined possible with this unit. The included Humminbird Basemaps have helped me navigate some of the larger lakes, and the autochart live feature has enabled me to create my own maps of the smaller local lakes I fish. Installation was pretty straightforward. The Helix 7 user interface is friendly. There are numerous videos on YouTube to help you install the Helix 7, navigate the menus and I interpret the maps.

I bought a Garmin Z82 a couple of years ago and have really enjoyed the rangefinder. One troubling issue has been the inability of the rangefinder to link with Android phones for more than 15 minutes, rendering the advanced wind reporting functions useless. They recently came out with software upgrades that seem to fix the issue. Love the unit and all features now work. Would definitely recommend the rangefinder- great display and excellent features.

I had bought this watch after owning the Fenix 5x Plus Sapphire and then the Venu 3. I did like the Fenix 5x Plus but did n't love it. So, I thought the Venu 3 would fill the void that was present on the 5x Plus, it did not. The Epix Pro Gen 2 Sapphire has everything that's missing in the Fenix 5x Plus and Venu 3. This watch is a beast and has helped me track everything from hiking, walking, and bicycling with great accuracy. It has the color touch of the Venu 3 but maps and many other features of the Fenix 5x Plus. Just an all around wonderful watch!

I can take this watch from work to Lifetime to the course. I love it.

My 1030 plus decided took on water on a wet ride and had to be replaced. I got the Edge 1040 thinking it would be very similar and did not expect much difference. I was pleasantly surprised at the improvements in the unit. First thing I noticed were the icons on the data screens that make it easier to find things like elevation, grade, gears, and next turn direction( see first two screen shots). Probably the best improvement is in the Climb Pro screen( screen shot 3). Climbs are automatically detected based on the road you are riding( previously climbs just showed up on preloaded routes). The climb pro screen now shows you the map along with the graph. Includes the grade you are currently at and remaining distance, grade and altitude gain left in the climb. Nice feature! I like how the meter pairs with Di2 shifters as seen on the last screen shot.

The watch band is also an excellent material that feels more flexible and stretchy than standard silicone. ... Overall, this punches way above it's price point and is an excellent watch for a beginner to intermediate athlete focused on typical endurance

splat
[ Extremely useful for such a minimalist design with a robust battery life. Lightweight, low profile yet it has an incredible battery life with pinpoint GNSS accuracy delivered by a chipset that supports dual band satellite fixes. The Coros app by far is the best making route building and reviewing post work metrics easier than ever. Additionally, app doubles as either an interactive topo map during activities like hiking or trail running, but on indoor activities like spinning or treadmill running the app becomes real- time stat screen that is customizable by the user. The generation of Coros watches: Pace 3 and Pace Pro really deliver substantive features that are insightful to improving and refrains from producing questionable gimmicks like “ wellness ” metrics that have never been validated by a third party or university researchers. Plus Coros( and Apple) are probably the only company( ies) that are delivering routine updates& upgrades to their previous gen devices so you are not constantly compelled to buy the latest generation. Plus Coros releases model of a series every 3 years.

I bought this mainly for the heart monitoring feature. I have issues with my heart health, experiencing bradycardia. My BPMs were in the 30s. I needed a pacemaker. I had the implant done. While in the hospital I was able to compare the Instinct 2 to the heart monitor, and it is spot on. Now that I am home it is great to be able to keep track of my BPM. Also, I use it to track my walking. The long life of the battery is extremely appreciated. I charged it and it showed 27 days of charge. I truly like this watch!!!

I purchased this watch almost a month ago. This is my first smartwatch. I had a Fitbit for 2 days before taking it back getting the instinct 2. This watch was more my style and much more user friendly imo. I use this watch for my workouts and walks. My wife has a Fitbit and the Instinct 2 is way more accurate. Also the connect app works great with apple health. With the Fitbit I had to use 2 separate apps to sync it with apple health which was annoying. The watch has great battery life which is a big plus. I would definitely recommend this watch.
