Our family has several stoves ranging in size for backpacking and kayaking to car camping to portable cooking for large crowds. This single burner is great by itself or in combo with a two burner or another single burner for weekend camping. You save the room on your picnic table and the power of this stove boils water in a jiffy for coffee and cooks up breakfast for six in a jiffy using the single burner griddle( sold separately) on medium low heat. We very rarely use our table top stoves anymore- the quality at 30k BTU output more than makes up for the added bulk if you have room. Get yourself a two burner with griddle and bbq box and save this one for pans and coffee making on an open flame so you do n't have to swap out accessories. You 'll be able to cook for the entire camp! We have a dedicated 5lb tank for this and it will last a week with regular cooking. I do n't give out five stars easily- this unit earns every single one.

This stove is solid! I bought it to replace my 30 year old WhisperLite stove. No more empty fuel canisters to try and recycle and the cost of fuel is much lower. [ Love this stove. I had a MSR Dragon Fly stove for years, which is great for simmering or slow cooking gourmet backcountry meals, but `` very '' loud. Whisper Lite actually boiled water faster than the Dragon Fly, and its quietness is worth loosing the simmer option. With a little finesse, you can still simmer somewhat with the Whisper Lite. This stove is great it heats well, is compact, and is easy to use. I do wish the grate had a clip or something so it did n't slide out of the well when it's time for storage, but that is minor. We have it in a Plano box we use as a mess kit so once it is in there it's pretty secure. The only suggestion would be to put the knobs for the gas and the sparker on the same side. It's a little too wide with them on opposite sides to neatly store away. Otherwise I think this will be a great addition to our camp gear. We had no issues with the flame flickering in the light breezes we encountered. It seems that as long as you 're not cooking in a head on wind it would do well. Cooled down quickly, and packed away neatly. Thank you Coleman for offering American made products that are well built.

I have not used the one that I ordered as of yet. I bought this because a buddy of mine has it and have used it a few times and it is great. Much lighter than my old setup and is much faster, meaning less fuel. I do n't mind that it does n't have an igniter, I tend to just throw a mini Bic in the cup and leave it there, not to mention I always have another lighter with me for emergencies.

[ The Zip 0. 8L is my new go to stove for most adventures! It is easy to use even without the directions since the labeling on the jetboil illustrates the proper usage. This is the first of the jetboil systems I have owned and I am very pleased with its functionality. I have been able to use it quite a bit this winter and it boiled water quickly even in negative Fahrenheit conditions and higher elevations( tested around 10000 ft). Changing the amount of heat is smooth with the dial and it is seamless to ignite. My favorite part is the lid that makes it effortless to pour hot water out and the additional holes if you need to control the water you drain out. The system is also very easy to clean and pack. I plan to use it not only for ski/snowshoe days but also on my next camping trip to Norway since it's so small and easy to pack. Jetboil gave me this free product to try.

It's small and packs down easily, fitting into my gear without taking up much space. It is super light, it wo n't weigh you down, which is essential when you 're trying to keep your gear minimal and efficient on the trail. The boil time is impressive for such a compact system. I can bring water to a boil in about 2 minutes, which is fast enough for a quick morning coffee or preparing a meal after a long day of riding. This may seem trivial but I frequently try and turn up the flame and turn off the gas. Not that big of a deal but I instantly noticed this and now always know which way to adjust the volume. This is a fantastic stove. I 've used many and this one is my favorite. Its slightly heavier than others I have but like the igniter( never though I would) and it also saves us fuel usage which depending on the length vs canister packed can save on some weight. I 'm pretty happy with this stove. It fits nicely inside my kettle, works well for larger pans( even up to 8 inches), and get's nice and hot. I paired it with stabilizer legs as with the large canisters it can get quite tall. The one downside is having to bring a separate igniter.

I bought two of these stash. Cook sets one for myself and one for my sister. My sister had experienced a really bad storm in DFW without power so I sent her one of these so she could make lentils and rice. It came in clutch! The second use case I have for it is… I feed my dog, the honest kitchen brand food, which is basically freeze dried human grade, but in powder form. You basically mix it up with hot water and make a nice thick porridge. I keep one in my truck so that I could quickly heat up or barely warm up the water to make a hot meal for my coco pup basically anywhere we are! Plug: i also own the 3 other JetBoils. I 've used just about every Jetboil system over the last 9 years and I keep coming back to the MicroMo for my solo adventures. It's compact and fast like the flagship Flash and Zip systems, but with the regulator that opens up a whole new world of uses for me. I can dial in the flame to simmer noodles when I do n't want a rolling boil, and I can use it well into the winter without the changing fuel pressure of an unregulated system. If you 're looking for something as compact and efficient as the Zip but with some extra features, the MicroMo should be top of your list.

When you think of camping, backpacking, or survival, you should be thinking of water and food. I have multiple of the JetBoils in my various kit bags. Backpacking for 1, for 2, my get home bag. This unit( and all of the various units they make) accomplish so much in a self- contained package. For the features, it is relatively light( it will never win the “ ultralight ” challenge of a simple pocket rocket, etc) but it is your water boiler, it is your eating vessel, it contains and protects the heating element, you can pack your fuel in there. If you want an easy to use, well know and tried and trued package- the JetBoil line accomplishes a lot!

Awesome. I use this on every backpacking trip. It is definitely big, but if you 're cooking for multiple people having the space is well worth it. I will use the cup to mix up food and stuff in( some people are more purists and only ever allow water in their jetboil) but using it to actually mix stuff up means you do n't have to pack extra pots and pans which is a big plus. And it is big enough to stick your fuel cans and stove and utensils, etc. inside. And having the measuring markers makes it even more useful too. Great workhorse.

This stove is pretty easy to use and has a straight forward design. It ’s functioned well in both hot and cold weather for me multiple times. I don ’ t know if it is any more effective than a pocket rocket for most people. But if you are boiling larger pots of water for a whole group the extra support of the legs really help keep things stable. All in all I would recommend this stove it might not be the lightest but works like a charm!

Recently did a trip with some buddies in the White Mountains. We summited North and South Twin, Zealand, and Hale. It was late December so temperatures were around 20F. After letting the stove heat up for about a minute, I flipped the canister upside down to put it in four season mode. I do n't remember how long it took to boil my water but our elevation was about 4600' and it did n't feel very long. The stove was even so compact that I fit it into my 1L pot, along with a small rag and my zippo. I 've only used it in the field a handful of times but the thing seems bombproof. I even spilled a bunch of water on it and after lighting it again, it only took a few seconds to clear the water and work normally again. Definitely recommend!

I use my Jetboil all the time! I have a wide variety of stoves and use this one the most. It is so fast for boiling water and so easy for making coffee. On roadtrips I use it to make quick coffee every morning and in the winter time I ’ m boiling water for ramen noodles in the ski resort parking lot. It is a little bulky for backpacking but I have brought it along a few times. For backpacking I would bring along a more compact and versatile stove. I end up using it in random situations like long hikes, days out playing in the snow, and car camping trips. After about a year of heavy use it wobbles a bit on the fuel canister and the sparker is inconsistent which can be solved by bringing a lighter. Would highly recommended for anyone who spends time outside and loves coffee.

I have to agree with the majority of the people that have rated this stove anyone else was rated at less than five stars absolutely has no clue what they 're doing. I have wiped mine down repeatedly with all kinds of cleaners etc the finish on this product is second to none it's well applied powder coat and it is solid and I mean solid is not cheap tinsy little metal like some of these old camp kitchens. I especially love the burners cooking in the wind they 've held up beautifully I 'm able to boil water at no time at all and the heat that's produced by those burners is fantastic it's the last stove I think I 'll ever buy I 've got a trailer and I 've got a Jeep and it's going in both of them!
