I have been using this equipment for over 12 years. I have put it to hard use both inside and out in nature, over tree limbs and pull up bars. It has held up remarkably well. It is also useful as isometric straps. I keep it in a bag in my car when I go on my month long road trips. Originally I owned the first version( which I still have and use) but this version is even better because the straps are wider, the handles allow for comfortable foot straps, which allows for some potent lower body exercises. This is a very durable, flexible, and elegant dumbbell set. You can adjust the weight by adding or subtracting weight plates, which means that one pair of dumbbells allows you to do many different exercises. Yes, it takes a minute to screw the collars on and off to change weights-- but you need to rest a minute between sets anyway. And you can screw the collars on snuggly so that the weight plates do n't rattle around like other quick- adjust dumbbell sets( and this set costs far less). Though I am a physician, I am somewhat of a physician skeptic. I had a relatively severe shoulder dislocation and rotator cuff injury in college many years ago. The shoulder has never been the same, but `` tolerable ''. It had been getting worse over the past. year with significant pain, particularly with certain movements. I saw the orthopedic surgeon who recommended shoulder `` re- hab ''( physical therapy) and I was very doubtful that this would help. I read the literature that they provided me, got a set of resistance bands and started doing the exercises several times a week, as instructed. Much to my surprise and delight, my shoulder pain got much better along with my flexibility and functionality. I can now do exercises that I was incapable of doing two months ago with minimal to no pain. I was not looking forward to surgery and glad that I was able to avoid it.
