[ The fit of the snood is incredible. It fits nice and tight but is comfortable to my face. I am used to using a buff where I 'm worried about the covering moving around while in use. With the snood, it stays in place and fits perfectly with my ears. Because the fit is tighter than what I am used to, I thought the snood would be too tight. However the materials stretched and was forgiving in the areas that I was concerned about( neck and throat). The snood was very comfortable to wear. The material is comfortable and when completing an outdoor walk, I had pulled the snood down and forgot I was wearing it until I saw my reflection in the mirror. The fabric was very soft and breathable. The fleece interior made the materials warm to the skin and protected me against harsh winds, but the breathable mesh in front allowed for optimal oxygen intake. My favorite feature of the snood was the insulation with the material. I have used several face coverings in the past, but have experienced less than desirable results. The insulation material provided ultimate protection against a harsh cold wind and allowed me to experience a workout for longer periods of time. The snood is fitting to my face and does n't move around or drop down from placement on my face.

This Micro Clava is the perfect thickness for a person who is seldom cold and bleeds a lot of heat, so when it is cold enough to require head and neck covering this hood fits the bill perfectly. I was initially skeptical of the durability of these gaiters. They are very lightweight and very packable. I used them on a 10 day hike in the arctic( fall conditions) and they surpassed all my expectations. They performed well in the dry sand, tundra bogs, through rock and boulder scrambles, driving rain and snow as well as the muddy quicksand. They stayed in place well, the draw cord at the top held fast. The waterproofing was excellent and maintained its breathability. Hanging them or laying them out under the tent's fly/vestibule allowed any mositure accumulated through the day to be dry by morning. For these type of conditions I would highly recommend them. I would be suspect of the durability to low branches and brambles in the south, but OR has solid options for that.

I went hunting with my brother in Idaho where he was living and was unprepared for the weather! Lucky for me my brother had these amazing gaitors! they saved my feet on a multiday upland hunting adventure. We hiked 30+ miles in snowy conditions, and not good dry snow but that wet nasty snow. Day one my boots were soaked through and without these gators, I do n't know if I would have been able to keep going for the full week long trip. Great product at a great price!

The OR gaitors are great. Velcro front closure, boot lace hook to keep them secure from riding up, and easy rubber strap that secures under the sole of the boot. Plenty tall enough too. Would definitely recommend... Beginner or expert, anyone would find these useful!

I needed some new gaiters for snowshoeing and backcountry skiing. I been liking the Outdoor Research products I 've used recently so it was a no brainer to try these. No complaints! From the lace hook to the velcro enclosure and cinch strap at the top they work great. I went with a size large. I am 6' and about 180lbs and stomp around on size 11 feet. They come up to just under my knee and I need to cinch the cinch strap a good bit, but perfectly functional at that size for me.
