As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. Bought this to carry on my back while riding my motorcycle. It's perfect and despite being smaller, I was able to carry everything I needed in it. Even when loaded down it does n't feel like I have anything on my back. The only downside is when I 'm riding is that it shifts, but I may be able to buy a strap to anchor it, so it does n't shift. There are many pockets and pouches. You could stuff lots and lots in this bag. Everything stayed dry. We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. I 'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint- specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. I got this pack the 24 L a little larger than my 22 for my Grand Canyon rim to rim hike, it doesn ’ t come up until October but with my practice hikes I find this to be very comfortable this pack. Such a good bag, 100 oz of water is 4x my large yeti and the bag still has so much room I fit in an additional shoulder bag, snacks, some accessories and some green, and still had the half of the largest pouch not taken up by the water pouch. Bag is comfortable and stylish. Reservoir for water is incredibly well thought out and comes apart easily and in enough places that making sure the pack is dry after use is a breeze. But I got super jealous when my husband got the allpa 42 for his work travel set. Something about the pockets tickles the brain just right. This is my only go- everywhere bag that I take with me any time I leave the house. I ’ ve been using it for three years and I love it as much as the day I got it. I keep my phone in the back top- zippered compartment, and AirPods and lip balm in the small front pocket. In the main compartment slip pocket I have a notebook, pen, stain remover; in the rest of the compartment, I have alcohol hand spray, a pack of tissues, prescription glasses in their case standing up, and beside the glasses a Fjällräven pencil case in which I carry my must- haves( Advil, pocket knife, measuring tape, Bandaids, sanitary pad, alcohol wipes, nail file, hair elastic, eye glasses spray cleaner, snack). The glasses case and the Fjällräven pencil case stand up perfectly side by side, and in front of them I keep my Fjällräven Zip Wallet( filled with approximately 15 cards and cash). All of these items combined fit into the Sling without issue, and I can still put my large set of keys inside if I don ’ t want them in my pocket or clipped to the sturdy strap. In one of the side pockets, I keep a reusable bag. For a bag this small, it ’s amazing all that it can hold, and it ’s super comfortable to wear and have on all day. My one word of caution is to not wear the bag with any kind of delicate athletic/spandex- type clothing since the heavy- duty woven strap can snag or pull the fabric. For people who talk about colour transfer, please use common sense. If you buy the bag in a light colour, yes, of course, it will get dirty( the light colours make no sense to me and don ’ t blame the company for that)!! Similarly, yes, do not wear the bag in a dark colour rubbing against a white shirt. It ’s obvious from the material of the Sling that colour can transfer in both ways. I have mine in Dark Forest( same colour as my backpack and several items of clothing) and absolutely adore it. I love how I can grab the bag by the handles or the long strap, how everything is securely zipped, how hard- wearing the material is, and how I can also hook things to the bag if necessary. I can ’ t recommend it enough.

I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

The hip belt sits properly, and the weight balances nicely. I was able to comfortably carry more weight than I expected, and I felt stable going up and down hills. It was great- I trekked along without having to think abut my pack. My favorite part of this pack is the shoulder straps. They are much softer and more flexible than other packs I tried, while still getting the job done. They adjust easily. They 're shaped nicely and do n't dig anywhere! The shoulder straps are often miserable for me with my small shoulders, and these are a dream. The cell phone pocket on the front of one strap is genuis, and I put my sunscreen in a corresponding pocket on the other shoulder strap. [ This sling is the raddest for travel. I ’ m a wilderness guide and I have to pack in all carry ons so the more I can pack onto a flight, the better. My travel hack is to wear this under my jacket but sling it to the side opposite the flight attendant when boarding and it works every time so I can have a backpack and duffel. These day slings look cute when I go out too so I can pack my notebook, water bottle, headphones, hat, makeup bag and scarf into it, literally everything. I have too, one for hiking and one for going out.

This bagpack is fantastic for keeping your items cold/hot. Everything on the pack is high quality. It's very spacious and when you 're carrying the pack, the weight feels evenly distributed. I took it on an 8 mile hike and the only issue I had was the straps chaffed against my skin. I hike in tank tops so that was a bit of an issue for the bare skin in contact with the straps. The heavier the bag is, the more you 'll feel the chaffing. I have other bags that do n't do this. Other than this minor detail, the bag is fantastic.

Purchased: Aug 2024 Uses: 15+ day hikes with scrambling in the eastern Sierra General: I purchased the Sportlite 30 to replace my aging, 11 year old, Deuter Speedlite 30. My preference is a balance of lightweight, volume, and comfort, and I had not seen anything comparable to my Speedlite until I saw the Osprey. Having used it for a few months, I feel I can give a run down of my impressions. Fit: I have a 16 ” torso and purchased the small which fits very well. It carries much better than my Speedlite as it stays in place on my back better and there is less play when scrambling. What I like: Stretch side panels keep items secure, as does the front stretch compression pocket. I am very pleased Osprey added 2 hip pockets and I like that one of them is a stretch mesh pocket. I ’ ve always had zippered pockets in the past, and the stretch mesh secures a snack and allows for an easier retrieval than fighting with a zipper. I wasn ’ t sure I was going to like the direct access hydration sleeve, but it has worked well. Although the shoulder straps seem thin, they are comfortable and I ’ ve had no issues with them. What could be better: The 2 stretch loops on the shoulder straps are too high. I have a carabiner attached to the lower loop and it sits on top of my shoulder and sticks out rather than hanging down. I ’ d really like to see these moved lower. The side stretch mess pockets are about an inch to high. It is very difficult to reach around to grab something, e. g., bottle of liquid fuel/electrolytes, and put it back. The front compression pocket is also a bit too high. I basically have to unclip the compression straps to grab something, e. g., gloves, hat, from the pocket. But, on the other hand, if the pocket were not as high, it might not hold as much. I 'm not sold yet on the trekking pole loops. They seem small cumbersome. When I 've had to store my poles, I stuff them in a side pocket and secure them with the top compression straps. Lastly, I prefer my key clip to be in the external pocket of the top lid. At the end of a hike, when I ’ m tired and just want to get in my car, with the clip in the external pocket, all I have to do is unzip+ unclip. The workflow to get to one ’s keys in the under the lid pocket design requires one to undo 2 compression straps( 2 clicks)+ flip the lid+ unzip the pocket+ unclip. That ’s 5 steps vs 2. Despite the above limitations, I really do like this pack, especially how it carries. It meets my requirements for being light, having a 30L volume, and being comfortable. I ’ m not sure of the durability yet.. the mesh panel on the back has already ripped.

This is a great pack for both car and airline travel. I pack smart with packing compressors packing cubes but I wouldn ’ t say I pack light and I had plenty of space. The waist belt allows me to comfortably carry this pack through the airport. The straps stow easily and it fits in the overhead bin.
