Someone wrote that the Hikelite is lacking a handle loop. IDK, mine has one. As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. I also riveted thick vinyl sheeting on bottom so that it can be set down on icky bathrooms or muddy ground..... Osprey take note! Bottom of packs should have waterproof vinyl sheet!

Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. I had been looking to upgrade my weekender/diaper bag/under- seat bag. I travel across the country with my two small children regularly, and frequently do Thursday- Monday trip on my own. Kids and I usually only take roller bags and backpacks. I had been frustrated with the design of my normal backpack, as I felt I was always losing things to the bottom of the bag. I was able to configure the things that I knew I would need, and grab them easily without having to unzip the whole bag. It fit easily under the seat, stuffed full. If I were to travel on a budget airline, I would probably not stuff it full, since the dimensions are a little big for that. For my solo trips, I brought only this backpack and a small tote bag. I traveled on a train, to a plane, to another train. I ’ m a bit of an overpacker, but was able to fit more than enough clothes for all the days, and some extra creature comforts. It was a little heavy when fully packed, but that ’s just physics. One of my friends even commented on how impressed they were that I got everything to fit into that bag. I thought I would need to get a smaller water bottle, but I fit my 40 oz Owala in the water bottle pocket with no problems. I liked the waist strap and the chest strap. The zipper pockets within the backpack are great, allowed me to stay more organized when traveling than I usually am. I fit three iPads in the laptop compartment. The other bags I was looking at had a laptop compartment that unzipped all the way, and honestly, as a forgetful person( I. e., someone who might forget to close the zipper all the way) that looked really dangerous to me. The laptop compartment zipper has a small piece of fabric at the top that helps to hold the zipper in place, making me feel extra secure. The front pouches are really useful, I put gum, wipes, and chargers in there My only problem with this bag is that the zippers are a little sticky, but I always got them to close. Really glad I decided on this bag, it has made my travel experiences a lot easier. Feels like a sturdy, well made bag. I will eventually be going camping and plan to take this with me.

This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible- even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on- slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go- to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

I bought this pack a little over a month ago to be a low profile pack that I can every day carry to work either in my truck where it sits in my passenger seat or when I take the train into work. It ’s great, well made, handsome and fits my yeti coffee cup in the side pocket perfectly and very securely. If the only thing it did was carry my coffee, I ’ d be happy, but it has pockets for my ever expanding gear that I carry and the pack shapes nicely with the small dry bag that I keep inside it. The quality of workmanship and design details are superb and even though it ’s a humble pack compared to the rest of Mystery Ranch ’s packs, it ’s a contender! I was super stoked that I got this pack just a few days after ordering it and I haven ’ t left home without it ever since. Brilliantly done Mystery Ranch! Oh yeah, I also use it as a stuff sack/organizer inside my MR Blitz 30 when out on a ruck in the Cascade Mountains.

I ’ ve got the truth right here, strapped to my back, and it ’s lightweight, packable, and potentially from another dimension. The Mystery Ranch In and Out 19 doesn ’ t just carry your gear—it carries the burden of knowledge that we ’ re not alone. This 19- liter wonder was clearly designed by extraterrestrials, likely reverse- engineered from UFO wreckage they found near a New Mexico desert. I mean, how else can you explain its otherworldly design and functionality? Exhibit A: The material is lightweight but suspiciously durable. It ’s almost like they blended carbon nanotubes with alien alloys, then wrapped it in something soft to the touch but strong enough to fend off intergalactic threats( or at least some thorny brush on a hike). No mere earthbound polymer could achieve this. I ’ ve seen classified files about “ advanced textiles, ” but nothing like this. Exhibit B: It packs into itself! Yeah, that ’s right. I got this pack the 24 L a little larger than my 22 for my Grand Canyon rim to rim hike, it doesn ’ t come up until October but with my practice hikes I find this to be very comfortable this pack. Also, the hip pockets are larger than most so you can put snacks and other important items that you need there. Such a good bag, 100 oz of water is 4x my large yeti and the bag still has so much room I fit in an additional shoulder bag, snacks, some accessories and some green, and still had the half of the largest pouch not taken up by the water pouch. Bag is comfortable and stylish. Reservoir for water is incredibly well thought out and comes apart easily and in enough places that making sure the pack is dry after use is a breeze. I love my new pack, and I am currently traveling with it in South America. The compartments fit my packing cubes perfectly, and the shoulder straps are very comfortable. I ’ m pretty sure I could travel for several months out of this pack, if I stayed in a similar climate zone. I ’ ve been able to carry it on to all of my flights so far, and fits easily in the overhead compartment of the jets I have been on. I had one zipper malfunction of with the top compartment, as the key clip cord was caught in the zipper, and I had to cut the cord to get it open.

I own the Allpa 28L and 35L and this 42L is even greater! It ’s the same great pack but more room and space. Recently took it on a trip and able to carry onboard and fit in the overhead. The materials and compartments are best in the game. A tad bit too big on international flights, but most domestic is fine. This is an upgrade over my previous vest from a different retailer. Big roomy pockets on the front for flasks with elastic loops that go over the lid to prevent it from sinking down in the sleeve over time. I love the zippered pocket on the left for my phone and the mesh pockets on either side for snacks. The bag has an easy top cinch at the top and is super roomy for the other essentials and then some. There is probably enough space in the pack itself for an emergency overnight. The fit is luxuriously comfortable, feels secure with very little bouncing and jostling. The only aspect of the pack I have n't used is the pole sleeves on either side of the pack or the elastic loops for lashing poles to the outside. They seem like they would work very well with the distance z poles, but not my old school backpacking poles. Really though, this is a great buy, I am extremely satisfied with the fit, feel, and quality of the running pack.

My travel hack is to wear this under my jacket but sling it to the side opposite the flight attendant when boarding and it works every time so I can have a backpack and duffel. This is my only go- everywhere bag that I take with me any time I leave the house. I ’ ve been using it for three years and I love it as much as the day I got it. I keep my phone in the back top- zippered compartment, and AirPods and lip balm in the small front pocket. In the main compartment slip pocket I have a notebook, pen, stain remover; in the rest of the compartment, I have alcohol hand spray, a pack of tissues, prescription glasses in their case standing up, and beside the glasses a Fjällräven pencil case in which I carry my must- haves( Advil, pocket knife, measuring tape, Bandaids, sanitary pad, alcohol wipes, nail file, hair elastic, eye glasses spray cleaner, snack). The glasses case and the Fjällräven pencil case stand up perfectly side by side, and in front of them I keep my Fjällräven Zip Wallet( filled with approximately 15 cards and cash). All of these items combined fit into the Sling without issue, and I can still put my large set of keys inside if I don ’ t want them in my pocket or clipped to the sturdy strap. In one of the side pockets, I keep a reusable bag. For a bag this small, it ’s amazing all that it can hold, and it ’s super comfortable to wear and have on all day. My one word of caution is to not wear the bag with any kind of delicate athletic/spandex- type clothing since the heavy- duty woven strap can snag or pull the fabric. For people who talk about colour transfer, please use common sense. If you buy the bag in a light colour, yes, of course, it will get dirty( the light colours make no sense to me and don ’ t blame the company for that)!! Similarly, yes, do not wear the bag in a dark colour rubbing against a white shirt. It ’s obvious from the material of the Sling that colour can transfer in both ways. I have mine in Dark Forest( same colour as my backpack and several items of clothing) and absolutely adore it. I love how I can grab the bag by the handles or the long strap, how everything is securely zipped, how hard- wearing the material is, and how I can also hook things to the bag if necessary. I can ’ t recommend it enough.

This little but mighty backpack will be perfect for when I am abroad, which is twice a year for a month each time, because it is not heavy or too big for my frame. When I ’ m out and about sightseeing or hiking, I only need a few items, not a great big, heavy leather backpack. I will also use it as my every- day- carry as my handbag/purse. i usually hate splurging on bags because they never tend to last, but i ’ ve had my sling in clay for about two years now- i ’ m a super accident prone person, and i needed a bag that could deal with getting thrown around or beat up. it ’s been handling that very well! there ’s some minor discoloration/scratches on the bag, but all issues are solely cosmetic and would probably come out with a gentle wash:) carries a good deal of stuff( calculator, phone, glasses, etcetera) and i get tons of compliments on it. definitely worth buying if you ’ re a mess like me haha

My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

This is such a cool camping/hiking backpack, it has more pockets than I 'd know what to do with. There is a little pocket at the bottom that holds a waterproof cover. It can be easily folded back up to fit inside. There are sturdy metal rods, with a heavy duty mesh piece on the back. It will definitely hold up when hiking. I like that the main compartment can unzip to fit a sleeping bag or other bulky items. I have n't used it yet for hiking but it will be great for our next camping trip!

The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

I bought an Exos 48 to downsize and reduce from my Aether 65. I ’ ve been on two 7 day treks and it ’s worked out perfectly for less than 30 lbs loads even with a bear vault. I ’ m 71 and trying to extend my backpacking days with lighter loads. This pack is versatile as well. I intend to use it for 15ish lbs load on an Alta Via 1 hut- to- hut hike on over 11 days in Italy this fall. Highly recommend.

I have the Exos from like 7 years ago, I think 2 or 3 models ago. The ones that came out after my version had a mix of materials for the side and front stretch pockets. Mine is all stretch mesh which I prefer. I also have the hip belt pockets but I think they are smaller than the pockets on this new version. I am very happy with my Exos and love the vented back panel and having the option to remove the brain/lid to make it a smaller bag when needed. I have even used it as a day bag when the brain is removed. If you are on the fence between this 48L and the 38L, look at the dimensions, this one is only an inch wider. I am sure there are improvements on this new model but I am really happy with my old version. If you are n't someone that counts every ounce possible, this is a great pack. It is in a good price range for all you get with this bag. It is lighter than most packs in it's size range, has a lot of external storage pockets, internal frame, and has the best ventilated back panel I have used.

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Plenty of space and super comfortable. I barely noticed I was even carrying a pack, had zero shoulder or back strain, and like the frame that allows for some airflow through the back area- a big plus hiking in 80+ degree weather. Never had to use the internal rainfly, but that was definitely a selling point for me. Highly recommend!

[ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The new Rook series packs 50 and 65 liter are well worth the price they retail for. If you are a well seasoned hiker or a beginner you ca n't go wrong with the Osprey Rook. [ I just used my fair point 40 and the day pack for a trip to Europe. London, Zurich, Interlaken, Paris and Omaha Beach. I had zero issues flying without checking my bags. [ We have had the Poco LT for about 3 weeks and we absolutely love it! We just took it to Hawaii for a week and it packs down super small for travel. Before Hawaii I had taken it out about 5 times for about 10 miles total. After Hawaii, I have about 20 miles total with a 22 lbs. Baby plus waters, other canned beverages, snacks, and extra layers bringing my pack total to about 30 pounds! The pack has plenty of storage. The harness and hip belt system distribute the weight perfectly for a really comfortable carry. They are breaking in very quickly and becoming more and more comfortable with every adventure! The built in sunshade really helps keep my little trail buddy out of the sun. I also purchased the rain cover but haven ’ t used it yet. Also, I purchased the travel case for the Poco LT and it works great. It ’s durable and spacious enough to hold a little extra gear if you wanted to add some items to it. Also, I added a small hand held mirror to the pack pocket so I can make funny faces at my little one on the trail.

I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

I was reading the reviews and was saddened to see a not so good one... I love my Tempest! I want a new one, only because it is so- so dirty from travel and use. It is my daily driver, I keep it in the car for dogs, hikes, exploring, I take it skiing for snacks, layers, water and goodies, I take it overseas China Great Wall, South Korea Hiking, Europe day trips and for quick outings, hiking, exploring the foreign towns and cities. I am buying a new slick silver one for skiing and day hikes. I 'll keep the old one for the doggies and the car. I love my Tempest!

I recently went on a camping trip to Big Pine, CA. I hiked up to First and Second Lake which was about an 11. 3 mile hike and roughly 6. 5 hours. The Tempest 9 was perfect! I was able to fit a 3L hydration pack, my snacks, a small first aid kit and other items for the hike. I was a little worried the Tempest 9 was going to be too small, but it did the job. When it came time to selecting a size, I measured at 17 '' '' so I could have gone with either the XS/S or the M/L, I went with the XS/S, however, wished I would have went with the M/L. The hipbelt ended up coming up to my bellybutton. Overall, I am really happy with this backpack!

I will say that you do have to put the bladder( not included) into the pack before you pack in the rest of your items. A little annoying but also no big deal.
