I am pleased with my purchase. I am 6', about 180 lbs., and I ordered the Large. I read LOTS of reviews( 1 star review- 5 star reviewers) before purchasing, and I am pleasantly surprised with the fit of the jacket. SEVERAL reviewers stated the jacket runs large, one or two stated it runs `` true to size '', so, what is the `` real deal ''? I believe it runs pretty true to its stated size. The large is a little large on me, and the sleeves are a bit long. I have long arms( wear shirt size 16 X 34- 35 '') and the large jacket sleeves are a bit too long. So, it is NOT a `` tailored fit look '', but I personally prefer the jacket to be a bit larger to enable me to wear a sweater of hoodie underneath. The Medium size may have been a better fit; not sure; but I also wanted the grey jacket( which is almost black in color) and it has a somewhat sculptured fit in the way it was designed. I am MOST pleased. PAY HEED: Do NOT attempt to put anything in what `` appears to be '' inside pockets, as these are NOT inside pockets, they are the inside lining for the two outside access pockets. Several people `` assume '' them to be pockets only to have had their cell phones drop to the floor.

I absolutely adore the Rain Defender exterior fabric. Will Rain Defender keep me dry in a cloud burst rain storm? Nope! However I am often required to work outside when it is heavily misting, snowing and sleeting. I have a number of shirts and jackets with a sherpa lining. Layering under the sherpa provides excellent warmth. The last day I wore this sweatshirt it was windy, rainy and around 35 degrees. I stayed warm and dry. Excellent purchase. I am very pleased.

This jacket is more than I could have hoped for. I operate a snowplow at a ski resort at night during storms clearing parking lots. When I get out of the tractor into what is frequently a howling blizzard, this keeps me warm, sealed and protected. It's loose enough that I can wear layers underneath if it's really cold and the whole thing is lined with nylon so there is no binding at all. The hood and zipper come up to just the right place on my chin to be functional without hindering. And when it's wet snow or rain, it runs right off and I stay dry. Amazingly comfortable. There is nothing about this jacket that I do n't like. Bravo Carhartt!

This jacket is really comfortable. The overall quality is great. The material is soft and it is fairly warm on a brisk day. The exterior pockets have a lot of space and can hold a decent amount of items. The inside zipper pocket is a good size as well. The outside material is softer than expected which is nice. I couldn ’ t be any happier with this jacket. I love that it ’s not heavy, bulky or stiff. The lining is just enough to keep you warm with out making you too hot when in your car or while shopping. If you ’ re an outdoor enthusiast where you ’ ll be out for an extended time in- 0 temps, I ’ d look for a different jacket. This one is stylish and plenty warm for short times out in mild winter weather. I normally wear a large in clothing but typically size up in coats so I bought an XL. It fits perfect and I didn ’ t have the sleeve length issue as I saw in other reviews.( Just a note; Id say my arms are normal in length). If they were to improve this jacket, the thumb hole cuff inserts would be nice. I love this jacket so much that I went back to got the other color. Sadly it was sold out.

This jacket is an addition to the three other various Carhartts that I have hanging in my coat closet. I was needing something on the lighter side this time for doing some e- bike trail riding around metro Detroit and also something to match the camo paint scheme on my fat tire. This jacket's Moss color turned out being about as close to U. S. Army `` mean green '' as you could hope to get and I also really like the high zip neck and velcro adjustable sleeves. The fit was perfect too, as always. Since I have the sincere `` need for speed '', I was also duly impressed with how warm it was against the Spring windchill temps. I paired this jacket up also with some Carhartt fingerless gloves which is another story but the combo has worked out exceedingly well for riding. After all the accolades though, what stands out the most about this brand to me is that it was born in the City of Detroit for the tough, honest, hardworking man and wearing it, to quote Doc Holiday, kind of reminds me of me.

Excellent for winter to cut the wind and retain heat. Had multiple deer come within 30 yds and jacket noise did not alert them. Used as a top layer with layering( and heated vest, socks, and gloves all on lowest setting) during a 12( F) degree morning, never got cold and didn ’ t feel the wind. It does not have pockets, which helps with retaining heat and one less thing to leak down the road, but I use a small pack to carry in. I do suggest breaking it in a bit. Hope this helps, y ’ all stay dry and warm out there.

[ It's pretty amazing the quality and comfort of this jacket for the price. It feels slightly less like a rain jacket and a touch towards the soft shell jacket feel. My only gripe is the pit zip zipper is cold on my arms if I wear a short sleeve shirt underneath, so I usually plan to wear long sleeves to prevent that. It's a small complaint to have in order to have the pit zips. A zipper guard would probably increase the jacket price. I have 2 gore tex marmot jackets that I could wear but this one feels less like a thick, unbreakable plastic shell. This jacket is unique in that it has a breathable waterproof barrier similar to gore tex but it's only rated for 20, 000 according to their documentation. I 've read that there has been issues with some of the previous years versions and delamination. With this new 3 layer design hopefully that issue has been fixed. Only time will tell. All in all it's my go to rain jacket unless I 'm going to be in it all day long. It's probably one of the most comfortable rain jackets I 've owned. I 'm a 32 waist with a 40r chest and opted to get the medium. The fit is more standard so if I wanted a really tight fit I maybe could have squeezed into a size small. The medium fits really well though and allows for me to wear a decent mid layer if needed. One of my favorite things is the hood. I do n't plan to wear this with a helmet so it's great that the hood fits closer to my face than my other marmot jackets and it has adjustments to fine tune the fit. My least favorite thing is the placement of the pockets but as this is meant to be a more technical version of the standard eco jacket it's understandable. I do n't need to stick my hands into my rain jacket pockets anyways.

I really like this jacket so far. I am 6' 2 '' around 205- 210 and I bought the XL. I think this fits well if not a bit long in the arms. The jacket sleeves do down a bit past my knuckles and the back extends down pretty far, but its the perfect length to still have coverage on my back if I am bent forward( biking) or if I reach above my head. I guess that's what you want in a rain jacket, although if I lose a bit of weight I fear this jacket may become too baggy. The sleeves are velcro so they can be tightened in order to not droop down past your wrists.

I purchased this specifically for the Breck Epic Mountain Bike Race. This is a 6 day mountain bike race that takes you high into the alpine for extended periods of time around Breckenridge Colorado. I needed a jacket that was light and packed down small but offered good protection and breathability during aerobic riding. This jacket checked all the boxes and I was so glad I had this jacket when the clouds opened up during one of the stages this year. The temperatures dropped rapidly and it was heavy downpour conditions for an extended period of time. I work both inside and outside in the rugged and on polished floors in interior Alaska doing communications. I bought my first pair of the Two Harbors size 12 from an outfitter up here 6 years ago. I wore them nearly everyday for both work and leisure. They were so comfortable that I did n't like my hiking boots ad much as these I put many a mile on those vibram soles and it took 5 years to wear down the tread. Usually- 40 below and ice will really do a number on boots... but seriously these held up. I wanted so bad to replace them but I wore them down so badly on the inside tongue that I did n't have a part number or name for them. I just knew they were Irish Setter/Red Wing work boots. I wound up buying another pair of Red wing pull ons that were comfortable and I really like them.. but they only lasted one season and soles separated after their first winter. So I went back with Irish Setter and got a set of work boots that I had mailed just before Christmas. Oh man that was a mistake... Anyhow I thought I through my old Two Harbors away. I just came across them in my garage and my wife looked them up to show me they still make them. I 'm ordering 2 pair.

I have been wearing these boots for about 7 years. They used to be named ELY. Back around the time of covid, I was due a new pair of boots. I was able to find them luckily. But for a couple years they were not available. Come to find out they changed the name of them. Still a quality boot. I started using them because of a bad back issue I have. These boots have a great insole in them a great support system. I have been reading the other reviews on here and have a hard time grasping that some people have had a bad experience with this boot. I work heavy industrial and wear my boots 6 days a week ten hours a day, most weeks. Sometimes seven days a week. I have never had any issues with them other than. I wear them out as much as I use them. They are well worth the money spent on them and they are a great support system for anyone with a back issues. This is my opinion only, for someone with back issues, they have been a blessing to me. The price has went up since they changed the name of them, I guess it's a costly name. But all in all I will continue to buy these boots as long as I am working, which is about five more years and then I will buy my retirement pair, as I do not plan to wear them as much so they should last a lifetime.

I love these boots. Please never discontinue them. They are comfortable and affordable. I like the way they look as they do n't have any bright orange highlight colors. They also have the four quick lace metal tabs for the laces which I think are a must. I 've bought two pairs in the last two years. I found the M width to be a little tight in the toe, but after a month they broke in nicely. This time I 'm going to try the W width. I 'm on my feet 45 hours a week. These boots are perfect.

[ When the weather changed for our Portugal trip I needed a rain jacket fast! This jacket exceeded my expectations. It POURED rain on us and i stayed completely dry! The hood and extended visor prevented all rain from getting to my face and hair. I have waist length, super curly, thick hair and this hood kept it all in and dry! the length was perfect and prevented my lower body from getting wet. I sized up from a XL to a 2XL as I wanted room to layer and wear sweaters or sweatshirts underneath. The deep pockets were perfect for extra travel items! I got a whole water bottle inside one! I was wearing this jacket when I had a horse riding accident. When I tell you I absolutely flew off the horse and slammed into the gravel- this jacket should have ripped immediately. I do purchase an insole from a local shoe store for my plantar fasciitis which I have to use in all my lace up shoes. I have not found another shoe that fils my foot as well as this one for work and would recommend it to anyone who does similar work. I run around a lot with my job and turn many blind corners.
