As I do with all my backpacks, I put a large S- biner on it, so I can hang it, it even hooks over 40 cm thick stall doors so I do n't have to set my pack down. Bought this to carry on my back while riding my motorcycle. It's perfect and despite being smaller, I was able to carry everything I needed in it. Even when loaded down it does n't feel like I have anything on my back. The only downside is when I 'm riding is that it shifts, but I may be able to buy a strap to anchor it, so it does n't shift. Other than that, it is fantastic! Plus, the price point is great as well!

I was finally able to use it this weekend for a baseball tournament. It worked great! The elastic pocket on the strap was able to fit my phone with not much extra room. Nice snug fit though. There are many pockets and pouches. You could stuff lots and lots in this bag. Everything stayed dry. I was able to bring an extra large water bottle, sunglasses, phone, charger, battery pack, snacks and used the straps to carry an extra sweatshirt rolled up. This is definitely a big enough bag for basic travel.

We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. The water bottle holders are fantastic and fit a regular nalgene perfectly. For trips without the toddler, it makes a fantastic one- bag option for light travel. I have this as a backpack and I love it. I am still in high school and I honestly could n't want a better bag. In my opinion it is a little small for all the stuff I had but not too bad. I love the look of it, the skinny cute bag is so nice and i love the light blue on gray. The side pockets are a bit small for all water bottles but most of the time i do n't have a hard time pushing my bottles in. The bag is adequately sized for all hikes and most short camping trips. Despite its relatively small size, it boasts a number of impressive features. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

This is my third borealis I 've had a couple years currently I use this one I have for work and it's an awesome day pack. It's blue. I love the material and it gets me to point a to point B. I love the leather bottom adjustable straps and the side cupholders seems very durable compared to the previous models. As far as it is standing up that's a game changer for me but the way you fix it is stretch the bag out. Still getting used to it but currently on a trip in Italy with this backpack. At first it seems like you need to lay it flat to access or put away anything. However, when on the go, you can just open the zippers on the top to access the different departments, and by only opening the zipper on the top, I was able to create another pocket and start using it like a normal backpack, just throwing things in there instead of opening another zipper. All in all really nice quality. I picked the option where they just give you any color and I ’ m really pleased with it. Fits Norse Atlantic Airways personal size dimensions( and Ryanair too, though I haven ’ t been on that flight yet).

Such a good bag, 100 oz of water is 4x my large yeti and the bag still has so much room I fit in an additional shoulder bag, snacks, some accessories and some green, and still had the half of the largest pouch not taken up by the water pouch. Bag is comfortable and stylish. Reservoir for water is incredibly well thought out and comes apart easily and in enough places that making sure the pack is dry after use is a breeze. My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

` I am a 50 year old occasional hiker who has n't had a new pack since college. Just spent 3 days hiking in the Catskills with this pack on my back for 7- 8 hours a day and I love it. Completed the Everest Base Camp Trek a few weeks ago. Out of 8 people in our group there were 5 of us wearing Osprey packs. I had the Scarab 30 and loved it. We hiked in sun and rain, hot and cold, through wood and over rock fields. This pack was on my back every day every step of the way. The bladder was full with an extra bottle of water on the side at the waist belt and the bag was full with essentials for weather swap outs and everything i needed to get from A to B and survive without my big duffel. It never chafed my shoulders or waist, felt great on my back and did n't sweat me up by allowing air to flow around it. It was exactly the right choice. The design of the bladder makes it very easy to fill and shove back in its home. the only thing i would change or add would be a cover over the drinking port. We were dropping our packs in a lot of places, on trails in Tea houses, coffee houses and different temples, everywhere and the drinking port always ended up on the ground. Would of been nice to have some sort of cover.

I 've been using this Surge backpack since 2019 and it has been great! I 've heard my family's thoughts on the newer model of the same backpack and they are not as impressed. The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. I got this pack the 24 L a little larger than my 22 for my Grand Canyon rim to rim hike, it doesn ’ t come up until October but with my practice hikes I find this to be very comfortable this pack. Also, the hip pockets are larger than most so you can put snacks and other important items that you need there. Easy access to use it from my room to thank you Osprey for helping me choose this one pack.

[ Excellent service. Thank you so much. Your people are such a joy to work with. However the product zipper has a latent defect that has not been corrected. The zipper doesn ’ t hold up. Only lasts about a year then the cloth part of zipper goes bad. I ’ ve returned daylite many times. While I appreciate the all might guarantee, it ’s still a hassle to continue this process. I recently completed a 3- week vacation trip to 3 different countries( flights between each+ some train travel) using this pack. I needed clothing for weather ranging from cool( in the low 50's F) and rainy to hot and humid, and activities ranging from standard city sight- seeing to more formal dinners to hiking some rugged trails. I wanted to be able to carry- on to avoid lost luggage. I also took with me a lightweight stuff- sack style day pack( from another brand) to use as my `` personal item '' on flights and to use during daytime outings at my destinations, since the Alpa 42L is too big to use as a daypack. I like the Alpa 42L because of the clamshell design and interior organization. The pack is spacious, well organized, comfortable to wear, rugged, and has thoughtful details that other reviewers have already mentioned. I like the fact that the external laptop pocket is padded and somewhat hidden, and can be used for other flat- ish items if you 're not putting a laptop in it. I always carry with me a wide- mouth Nalgene water bottle, and the stretch water bottle pocket fits it well, unlike similar packs from other brands. I recommend using compression bags for clothes inside the Alpa( I used packing cubes, but wished I had used ones with compression). The pack had more than enough room for my clothes for the 3- week trip- in fact I had too many clothes( but also had access to washing machines during this trip). For reference, across the Alpa 42L and my day pack, I took 2 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of linen pants, a pair of lightweight shorts, a pair of athletic tights, a wool sweater, a backpacking rain coat, a cotton jacket, 5 t- shirts, 4 collared shirts, a linen dress, underwear, socks, and a bathing suit, toiletries, 3 books, a laptop and electronics cords/chargers/batteries, a couple of notebooks, gifts, a pair of sandals( wore my trail shoes on the plane), and I still had more room in the Alpa( although to meet certain flight size and weight restrictions I had to redistribute things between the Alpa and my day pack). My improvement suggestions: 1. Although I love the clean lines and exterior of the Alpa, I would add small side straps for cinching down the bag when it's not full. This would help it better fit some of the European airline size restrictions for carry- ons. Side straps would also be nice for holding trekking poles or a wet raincoat etc. while wearing the pack. 2. Position the sewn- on exterior webbing in the corners in a way that it's easier to add after- market elastic cords for strapping things like a rain coat to the exterior of the bag( or Cotopaxi could offer an add- on elastic strap specifically designed for the Alpa, but that could be removed for flights). I bought some elastic cord for a DIY attempt, but the angles and spacing of the webbing made it hard to create a `` net '' effect on the exterior of the pack and I scrapped that idea.

I took this bag on a 16 day trip, the only thing I added was one extra compression style cube for underwear and socks. Great high quality zippers and compartments I find the handles to cary as a duffle extremely useful and the luggage pass through strap is also useful for passing through other items. I used the luggage pass through strap to hold a travel guitar at some points. I checked the bag several times on international flights and it was durable and protected my gear.

This was the perfect travel bag for a 6 day trip. Plenty of room for all my stuff with room to spare. The water bottle pocket and zipper compartment are nice new features. The zipper compartment came in extra handy as I could throw in my wallet and cell phone before going through security and get them back out quickly. On my previous Allpa pack the main compartment zipper would catch in one spot but it looks like they got that issue fixed on this iteration. I 'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend.
