There's a little more of a heel lift to these vs. the Altra Olympus, but not much. They run pretty wide. This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. I bought this boot about a month ago to replace a previous model I had from Salomon. It was the closest to the Vaya. Feel is great overall, however the size is about 1/2 size too small. I really like these shoes! I use them for walking around town and some trail walking. I find them to be excellent in terms of support. The sole is hard but has great traction. They protect my foot from the rough terrain without adding 2 ” of padding. That said, because the sole is hard and not thick or really cushioned, these would not be my choice for standing all day. I want to start by saying that I have been a loyal follower and buyer of Salomon boots for as long as I can remember. For at least the past ten years, I have worn them every single day. I replace my boots annually — not because they wear out or break down, but simply because I love the feel of new boots. In fact, I still have all of my previous pairs, except my very first ones( which I should have kept as well). Each pair continues to serve me in different ways. When I first purchase a new pair, they become my work boots, while the older ones transition into hiking boots, allowing them time to break in naturally. After about six months, I begin using the newer boots for hiking, always carrying an extra pair in my pack in case I need to swap them out — usually due to an issue like water getting inside. Let me emphasize that under normal conditions, these boots do not get wet inside. However, if fully submerged underwater — which I have done on several occasions — they will absorb moisture. When this happens, I hang the wet boot on the outside of my pack to dry while I continue my journey. I can confidently say that Salomon makes outstanding boots. They have been an essential part of my adventures, and I highly recommend them. Great boots, great company, and great experiences with Salomon!

This is my second pair of Konos TRS shoes and they are just as comfortable as the ones I bought last year. Taupe color is exactly as pictured and fits true to size.
