I chose Merrell over other brands because they make good quality and well designed boots. I have peroneal tendonitis on one leg, so I need ankle support for walking. They are comfortable right out of the box. I also like that you can put your own orthotics inside. The ones they come with are fairly good, but I need more arch support. I have n't used them in wet conditions yet so I ca n't comment on how waterproof they are.

I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I live in the desert and the tread pattern is gripping on all surfaces so far no issues. It hasn ’ t rained here yet so we will still have to see how they grip on wet pavement and rocks. I ’ ve worn these Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots daily for the past 8 months as a residential electrician in Southern California. As someone who usually wears barefoot- style shoes( Vivobarefoot, Flux, Lems Primal, and Altra Lone Peaks), I was pleasantly surprised by how well these hold up in a work environment. Fit& Comfort: I wear a size 13( EU 47), and the fit is perfect. If you ’ re in between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, definitely go up a size. These boots have a bit more cushion and slight arch support compared to more minimal brands like Vivo, but in a construction setting, I actually appreciate the extra sole thickness. My feet feel supported without losing that barefoot connection — and best of all, they ’ re not fatigued at the end of a long day. Performance: Traction is solid with good grip, though the aggressive lugs can hold onto dirt and debris. It hasn ’ t been an issue for me in SoCal, but it ’s something to keep in mind in muddier regions. Waterproofing has held up well. Durability: After 8 months of use, the only real sign of wear is the toe box starting to separate slightly. Not a dealbreaker, but something I hope Merrell improves in future versions. Wishlist for Future Versions: • A non- waterproof high- top version would be amazing — same support, but more breathability for dry climates. • Stronger toe construction to improve long- term durability. Bottom Line: If you ’ re looking for a minimalist- inspired boot that can handle job sites, this is one of the best options out there. It strikes a rare balance between barefoot feel and real- world utility.

Thirty years ago I suffered a severe mid foot crush fracture which is now arthritic combined with areas of non- union. I have worn Morrell Moab 3 ’s for many years with orthotics and had the best support possible, but the antora has given me amazing pain free ambulation while walking our rural property and roads, as well as while shopping and walking the dogs. The shoes are lighter weight, still offer excellent support especially mid- foot, with quicker and easier breakover which makes an enormous difference to my gait and comfort. Very durable and true to size. Definitely reccomend!

I ’ m a size 12 through and through, but these in the same size were tight. The toe box is smaller than normal. Also you need to take into account feet swelling and perhaps thicker socks. I wore these for the first time all day hiking around Grand Cyn Village. I was surprised there was no uncomfortable rubbing or stiffness which is very common with new hiking shoes. I was very impressed!

I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! They were comfortable right off the go and my custom orthotics fit in then since they have a removable foot bed. I loved these boots on the trip! Completely waterproof over the foot but if water gets up to the mid part where the laces are water does come in. I am going to look for a goretex hiking gater for that.

I wanted to share my positive experience with these hiking boots. I recently wore them on a Boy Scout summer camp trip to Camp Daniel Boone in North Carolina, and I was particularly impressed with their waterproof capabilities. I accidentally slipped into a shallow part of the river, and my feet remained completely dry. These boots were comfortable right out of the box, requiring minimal, if any, break- in time. I walked nearly 20 miles over the week, and my feet felt great throughout. I purchased them on sale, likely due to the color, which does tend to show dirt more easily. However, with a soft toothbrush and soap, they cleaned up almost as good as new. I was also surprised by the durability of the tread, as it showed almost no wear, despite other reviews indicating significant wear. Overall, I highly recommend these hiking boots.

I purchased these because I was looking for a comfy, still warm, but light boot to travel to South Africa with. I went in June so it ’s their approaching winter. As soon as I opened the box I loved the design and especially the air pockets. The bottom shoe design has pretty good grip. On various surfaces. Including some pretty epic rocks and boulders on Table Top Mountain. They have a wide front design to mimic your natural toe spacing, so there not bunched up. Which made for a person like me with Flinestone flat feet even more able to walk for hours and climb. Honestly it felt more like a barefoot sneaker which was perfect for me. I did not test the shoes on a rigid and rough climbing ability, but mediocre climbing they did great. Also had no issue with water getting inside, except the top part due to me not having them laced to the top. Shoe was easy to clean as well. Used a towel to wipe off. I also loved the fact I didn ’ t need to break them in by wearing them for a few days on and off before the trip. Like I said right out the box adventure ready!. Overall, I ’ m extremely happy with my purchase.

Got these in low top. These are great! Coming off a pair of Moab 2 lows for hiking I feel these are a definite upgrade in looks and comfort. I think Merrell hit the nail on the head with the styling, I actually am tempted just to wear these as a daily without hiking in them, I do n't want to get them dirty! They look fantastic with jeans. Also note that these leather ones are more comfortable than the Speed 2 Goretex version... I tried on that pair and the cut outs for the ankle were higher and rubbed my ankle. There is no rubbing on these, however they are slightly heavier than the Speed 2 goretex. I imagine because this uses leather.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit! The shoes seemed narrow at first, but after wearing them a couple of times, they ’ re as comfortable as my Moab ’s.

I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! I had a pair last winter and enjoyed them so much, when I saw an online sale, I bought a pair for next winter. I train dogs to move livestock and take care of livestock all year long. Warm feet in the winter months are important to me. It does n't get ridiculously cold in eastern Washington but we can see single digits on occasion... some winters lots of snow. They do n't seem quite as slippery on ice as well. These boots get the job done.

Bought these as a work shoe as I work in hvac and am anywhere from rooftops to crawl spaces, outdoors in the woods to city sidewalks. They are very comfortable and keep my feet dry in the rain and breathe enough so I don ’ t sweat like crazy in the hot attics. The sole has enough grip to keep me from slipping on wet banks. I feel like I have some extra spring in my step with the thick cushiony heel on these boots. My only complaint is the elastic cord for the lace eyelets. On the left boot the cord is cut too long inside the shoe and if my foot is pressed up against anything on the outside it hurts. Other than that I ’ m very pleased.

These come out the box with a good insole and minimal break in time, I ’ ve had some 14- 18 hour days on them and while my feet are tired and fatigued at the end of the day, they don ’ t hurt. They also provide great ankle support. I ’ ve worn it hiking, inside of shoothouse training, and during hog hunts and it ’s been a very reliable sturdy shoe for me. While it may be labeled “ waterproof ” I wouldn ’ t walk through deep water or soak them for hours on end and expect perfectly dry feet, it ’s unrealistic and not what it ’s built for in my opinion, it will keep them dry in rain or more shallow ankle deep water, or walking through wet fields. However nothing is perfect, if your looking for something to keep your feet from sweating this isn ’ t it, with them being the waterproof version your feet are going to sweat pretty good, I knew this going into it and therefor it didn ’ t bother me. But I would recommend a different version if you want a nice breathable shoe. The other thing I would change is how thick the tongue is, it doesn ’ t really rub or create hot spots or sit weird it ’s just a personal preference thing for me.

Love this shoe! I have scar tissue on my horizontal arch from an injury years ago. With my off the shelf orthotic. It ’s wide enough and holds my foot for hours of walking. Looks classy!

I took my Moab 3s out for a 9- mile training walk and they were perfect! I will be using them to hike in Slovenia so I had to find the right pair to get me through that. I passed a guy who said I love your boots- I have a pair just like them! I think that says a lot!

I love these shoes! I got size 8 which is half a size larger than I usually get. They began to feel slightly loose as I have broken them in, but they still feel great since I can tighten the laces. My toes had bruises from previous shoes and feel great in these shoes.

Love this shoe! Wore it four days hiking in Zion. Didn ’ t even need to break them in, just wore them straight out of the box for nine hours the first day. No blisters, no sore feet, great support, and my feet weren ’ t aching by the end of the day like some other shoes I have used in the past. I like the way you don ’ t feel the rocks or uneven surfaces beneath your feet; so comfortable. I highly recommend this shoe!!

These boots are the best for work. Comfortable, light weight and tough. I wear them while landscaping everyday, pushing down on a shovel, scooping rock, planting shrubs, getting about 20, 000 steps a day and never tired feet. I highly recommend these. At that rate they last about 6 months until the soles wear out. Well worth the money. I 've been buying this boot for about 7 years now.

Out of the box, super comfortable and did n't have a break- in period. Kept wearing them all week for about 12 hours at work. Easy to put on and off but stay on your feet even when running or moving over rough terrain.

Right out the box I took them on a 7 mile with some water crossing that I unfortunately hit a loose rock and dunked my one foot but the shoes didn ’ t miss a beat, they dried back out in no time. No blisters even with no break in and super comfy right out the box. I own two pairs, the tactical and the regular. The regular got this annoying squeak from the insoles after the first hike but now at about 50- 75 miles it has faded, the tactical( which I ’ m at about 250 miles on and still going strong) has no such issue as they do use different insoles in them. Either way a great shoe for hiking and everyday comfort. Wear em on a slippery water hike and watch your friends fall as you stand there comfortably and securely.
