This is my third borealis I 've had a couple years currently I use this one I have for work and it's an awesome day pack. It's blue. I love the material and it gets me to point a to point B. I love the leather bottom adjustable straps and the side cupholders seems very durable compared to the previous models. As far as it is standing up that's a game changer for me but the way you fix it is stretch the bag out. Bought this to carry on my back while riding my motorcycle. It's perfect and despite being smaller, I was able to carry everything I needed in it. Even when loaded down it does n't feel like I have anything on my back. The only downside is when I 'm riding is that it shifts, but I may be able to buy a strap to anchor it, so it does n't shift. Other than that, it is fantastic! Plus, the price point is great as well!

I was finally able to use it this weekend for a baseball tournament. It worked great! The elastic pocket on the strap was able to fit my phone with not much extra room. Nice snug fit though. There are many pockets and pouches. You could stuff lots and lots in this bag. Everything stayed dry. I was able to bring an extra large water bottle, sunglasses, phone, charger, battery pack, snacks and used the straps to carry an extra sweatshirt rolled up. This is definitely a big enough bag for basic travel.

We absolutely love this bag as our personal item( as long as it's not overstuffed, it fits easily under the seat) to bring our toddler's plane snacks, toys, tablet, and other travel essentials along with a smattering of items we want to keep on us instead of checking through. The water bottle holders are fantastic and fit a regular nalgene perfectly. For trips without the toddler, it makes a fantastic one- bag option for light travel. Firstly, this bag has a small plastic internal frame to provide structure. The frame is lightweight, yet sturdy enough for a fully packed bag. Because of the frame's assistance with weight distribution, everything felt lighter on my back. This bag also has many different pockets and straps for varied packing strategies. The straps on the bottom of the bag are perfect for a sleeping bag, ground mat, or small tent. Underneath those straps is a small pocket that holds an included rain cover to keep your bag totally dry during heavy rain. There is also a pocket on top of the bag for any small items you may need to access on the go, without opening or unpacking the rest of the bag. Finally, there is a pocket for a hydration bladder, so you can stay hydrated as you move. Some other useful features are the emergency whistle on the chest strap, the included strap management bungees( so those leftover strap ends after adjustment are n't hanging everywhere), and the water bottle pockets on the sides. Overall, I would give this product a 5/5. Met or exceeded all of my expectations. I would highly recommend this bag to anybody who is a frequent camper or hiker.

This bagpack is fantastic for keeping your items cold/hot. Everything on the pack is high quality. It's very spacious and when you 're carrying the pack, the weight feels evenly distributed. I took it on an 8 mile hike and the only issue I had was the straps chaffed against my skin. I hike in tank tops so that was a bit of an issue for the bare skin in contact with the straps. The heavier the bag is, the more you 'll feel the chaffing. I have other bags that do n't do this. Other than this minor detail, the bag is fantastic.

Best travel backpack I have purchased. Tough and durable, it is really well designed and assembled. Plenty of pockets, almost everything is secured behind a zipper. It fits easily under the seat on a SWA flight. Front pocket for your tickets, top shallow pocked for phone, wallet, and watch while going through TSA. Stands up and is pretty balanced. You laptop is very protected, especially if you drop the back pack off a chair or sit it down too hard.

Still getting used to it but currently on a trip in Italy with this backpack. At first it seems like you need to lay it flat to access or put away anything. However, when on the go, you can just open the zippers on the top to access the different departments, and by only opening the zipper on the top, I was able to create another pocket and start using it like a normal backpack, just throwing things in there instead of opening another zipper. All in all really nice quality. I picked the option where they just give you any color and I ’ m really pleased with it. Fits Norse Atlantic Airways personal size dimensions( and Ryanair too, though I haven ’ t been on that flight yet).

Such a good bag, 100 oz of water is 4x my large yeti and the bag still has so much room I fit in an additional shoulder bag, snacks, some accessories and some green, and still had the half of the largest pouch not taken up by the water pouch. Bag is comfortable and stylish. Reservoir for water is incredibly well thought out and comes apart easily and in enough places that making sure the pack is dry after use is a breeze. Nice quality straps, small footprint and breathable materials means your back isn ’ t burning up. This little pack has been the perfect travel companion. I like to 'carry on' travel as often as possible- even a two week long trip to the UK and Ireland. As I can never truly get away from work my second bag has to be my computer bag holding a substantial amount of work related items. As such its hard to repurpose as a day pack. For me this leaves out the option of a day pack once on the ground. Enter the In and Out. It truly packs down small and takes up little room in my computer bag and once at my destination becomes an extremely effective day pack for touring about, shopping, hiking and going to the beach. It also worked great as an on- slope pack when on a ski trip last winter. This has been a 'go- to' standard for my traveling kit. Highly recommended.

It ’s great, well made, handsome and fits my yeti coffee cup in the side pocket perfectly and very securely. This is my only go- everywhere bag that I take with me any time I leave the house. I ’ ve been using it for three years and I love it as much as the day I got it. I keep my phone in the back top- zippered compartment, and AirPods and lip balm in the small front pocket. In the main compartment slip pocket I have a notebook, pen, stain remover; in the rest of the compartment, I have alcohol hand spray, a pack of tissues, prescription glasses in their case standing up, and beside the glasses a Fjällräven pencil case in which I carry my must- haves( Advil, pocket knife, measuring tape, Bandaids, sanitary pad, alcohol wipes, nail file, hair elastic, eye glasses spray cleaner, snack). The glasses case and the Fjällräven pencil case stand up perfectly side by side, and in front of them I keep my Fjällräven Zip Wallet( filled with approximately 15 cards and cash). All of these items combined fit into the Sling without issue, and I can still put my large set of keys inside if I don ’ t want them in my pocket or clipped to the sturdy strap. In one of the side pockets, I keep a reusable bag. For a bag this small, it ’s amazing all that it can hold, and it ’s super comfortable to wear and have on all day. My one word of caution is to not wear the bag with any kind of delicate athletic/spandex- type clothing since the heavy- duty woven strap can snag or pull the fabric. For people who talk about colour transfer, please use common sense. If you buy the bag in a light colour, yes, of course, it will get dirty( the light colours make no sense to me and don ’ t blame the company for that)!! Similarly, yes, do not wear the bag in a dark colour rubbing against a white shirt. It ’s obvious from the material of the Sling that colour can transfer in both ways. I have mine in Dark Forest( same colour as my backpack and several items of clothing) and absolutely adore it. I love how I can grab the bag by the handles or the long strap, how everything is securely zipped, how hard- wearing the material is, and how I can also hook things to the bag if necessary. I can ’ t recommend it enough.

My son has recently outgrown his Jet18, after many many years of use and adventures. He is a tiny 11 year old, who is too tall for the Jet18, but too small for an XS adult pack. He has a 50l youth overnight pack that we love and the 38 is very similar! Like the 50l, I love that this pack is also adjustable and grows with the kid, allowing several years of use. He is currently on the middle setting( of 3 settings.) It has the top “ brain/snack pack ” that he likes and the inside is roomy enough for his 10 essentials, plus more. Osprey has changed the side pouches to have a fabric base, opposed to their previous mesh side pockets that would eventually wear out. I do wish Osprey made an adjustable back pack like this in a smaller liter. 38 liter is huge for a younger child as a daypack. He needs more than 18l( because his clothes are getting bigger and take up more space) but way less than 38l. I only have a 30l as an adult leader of the group.

The straps are more prone to breaking and the seams have started tearing pretty early in the life of their backpack. This being said, my older model has been so great! It's gone through years of hauling notebooks, folders, textbooks, water bottles, and clothes for practice after school. One of the shoulder straps did begin to tear last year( 2024) slightly but a quick stitch- job has got it back to working order. I would definitely buy a North Face backpack again!

This was the perfect travel bag for a 6 day trip. Plenty of room for all my stuff with room to spare. The water bottle pocket and zipper compartment are nice new features. The zipper compartment came in extra handy as I could throw in my wallet and cell phone before going through security and get them back out quickly. On my previous Allpa pack the main compartment zipper would catch in one spot but it looks like they got that issue fixed on this iteration. I was reading the reviews and was saddened to see a not so good one... I love my Tempest! I want a new one, only because it is so- so dirty from travel and use. It is my daily driver, I keep it in the car for dogs, hikes, exploring, I take it skiing for snacks, layers, water and goodies, I take it overseas China Great Wall, South Korea Hiking, Europe day trips and for quick outings, hiking, exploring the foreign towns and cities. I am buying a new slick silver one for skiing and day hikes. I 'll keep the old one for the doggies and the car. I love my Tempest!

I recently went on a camping trip to Big Pine, CA. I hiked up to First and Second Lake which was about an 11. 3 mile hike and roughly 6. 5 hours. The Tempest 9 was perfect! I was able to fit a 3L hydration pack, my snacks, a small first aid kit and other items for the hike. I was a little worried the Tempest 9 was going to be too small, but it did the job. When it came time to selecting a size, I measured at 17 '' '' so I could have gone with either the XS/S or the M/L, I went with the XS/S, however, wished I would have went with the M/L. The hipbelt ended up coming up to my bellybutton. Overall, I am really happy with this backpack!

I will say that you do have to put the bladder( not included) into the pack before you pack in the rest of your items. A little annoying but also no big deal. [ The new updated Osprey Rook 65 Performs outstanding. It caries the load very well. While I used it on a winter day hike with only 25 lbs in it I feel it will comfortably carry about 35- 40 lbs. The new Rook series packs 50 and 65 liter are well worth the price they retail for. If you are a well seasoned hiker or a beginner you ca n't go wrong with the Osprey Rook. I imagine the Women's Renn will preform as well.
