These were the only shoes I took on my 7- day trip: walking, hiking, ice, snow, rain, airports, shopping on cobblestone streets- you name it, I did it and my feet felt great. If you 're need is to do delicate footwork in steep or awkward terrain these are not the boots for you. But, if you 're spending a lot of time working outside in Wyoming in winter in snow, on ice, and in the very special kind of mud we have up here, they are stellar. I had a little break in period to soften up the ankles a little. They are warm, without heavy socks, even in sub- zero° F temps, comfy, 100% waterproof, and easy to clean. Sizing winter boots has been quite challenging. I wear a 10. 5 medium width athletic shoe/ 44. 5 cycling shoe. I tried many brands and sizes including LL Bean, KEEN, Columbia, Muck, and a few more. Boots like this can feel stiff so I prefer thicker wool socks for added cushion and insulation. An 11. 5 was snug but not too tight( like the 11) and gave me enough wiggle room in the toe box. When I finally got outdoors with them, I found them warm and comfortable walking around for more than two hours through slush and snow on trails and streets. They are quick to slip on and lace up, quick to unlace and slip off. I am very satisfied with them.

I found these while searching for a pair of long lasting waterproof snow proof winter boots. I have to say I ’ m very picky about boots, so when I got these, I was a little disappointed to see they didn ’ t have a side zipper, but that ’s my fault for not reading thoroughly. The description says leather and suede upper, but that ’s only the stripe, the actual majority of the boot is a soft canvas, which isn ’ t what I was looking for. I wasn ’ t a huge fan of the shape of them, as they seem to accentuate the widest point of my calf, but overall they ’ re very nice and they fit well when I tried them on. They are thick inside so they might feel tight with a thick sock, but they were immediately super warm so a thick sock doesn ’ t seem really necessary. I haven ’ t worn them in snow or water, so I can ’ t speak to that. I most likely will exchange these for a pair of Merrell tall lace Polar boots that I had wanted but were out of stock.

I am 205 pound at 6' pack less but on this trip I did have a hydration pack with some supplies( maybe 10#) The first and only outing for me was a 5 mile out and back along a mountain side road. Along the way the binding/crampon and my boot worked along the pivot axle of the shoe causing my boot to make contact with the decking material. It was easy enough just to kick it back to center while walking. The binding system is easy to adjust and to enter/exit with gloves on. The Crampons worked well in a cold powdery snow, they did n't clog. As for float I ca n't give a true evaluation the snow was n't all that deep except for a few drifts, where they kept me aloft. The shoes seem sturdy and maneuverable as I was able to climb up and over several snow covered logs and walk about the saplings. The poles included with the kit have lever locks for the adjustments which IMO are nicer than twist locks. The poles may not withstand the rigors of my bush whacking hikes but performed well enough for walking along the road. The included storage bag has a section sewn in that is made of mesh allowing for drying, there are shoulder straps as well as a grab handle all nice features. The zippers could be of better quality, I broke one on the second closing. Overall a good value in todays snowshoe market place.

I got these lightweight snowshoes for my kids because they like running in snowshoes, but have borrowed them a few times because they 're so much fun! The shorter length, light weight, and axle system make them easy to walk or run in. The one- pull bindings are easy to use and stay on well. Just make sure the ball of your foot is over the metal plate, secure the heel strap, and you ’ re good to go!

I have used my run snowshoes several times this winter( would have been more but snow has been limited) the binding system works very efficiently and stays secure throughout the entire run/hike. The crampons provide excellent traction as the conditions were a combination of powder and icy snow. I ran mostly single track and this model was quick and maneuverable as i made adjustments due to surface and elevation changes. They are very light and reactive to sudden changes in directions.

This is my second pair of Womens Lightening Ascent Snowshoes. I purchased the first pair when they first came out and used them for many years. I replaced the bindings on the old snowshoes and still have them as a backup pair but they are 25 inch models and I wanted the shorter version; so, I purchased a new pair. The new snowshoes have an easier to use binding than the old ones and the heel lift seems to be places in a better location for smaller feet on the shorter snowshoe. Other than the improvements to the new model they are still the best snowshoes I have ever used. It is important to get the narrower women's model if you are a small person. I have tried the men's model and they were too wide and more difficult to travel in. I a 5' 2 '' tall with short legs. I have had minimal issues with snow balling up and secure grip on steep icy terrain. I am a big fan of these shoes.

They had good traction. [ I tried to hold of reviewing this item as long as I could, due to the kids needing some snow to review them. But unfortunately, the timing these arrived, here in my area, we have n't had no snow!! We were suppose to get some snow yesterday, and all we got was snow mixed with rain, which caused ice to form instead, which unfortunately was n't enough to have them test them out. But what I can say about them, they fit all three of my kids, they are made well and are super fun, very bright and fun colors, which make them wearable for both boys and girls! These snowshoes make for a safe outdoor activity that is both kid and parent approved. The snowshoes themselves are very sturdy and light weight. There are some sharp metal grips underneath that you have to be careful with, but they will give you excellent traction in icy conditions or going up hills. The straps are large enough to go over snow boots. They ’ re also very easy to take on and off. My 7 year old can do it by himself. The two trekking poles compliment the snowshoes well. The poles are adjustable in length. Two snaps are all you need to adjust and secure the length in place. The poles are light weight as well and provide extra balance, especially for those new to snow shoeing. A convenient carry bag is also included. It ’s plenty large enough to store both snowshoes and trekking poles. It ’s perfect for traveling or just storing them away for the summer. The boot liners had a bunch of animal fur stuck in them, and all over the outside soles. I sometimes buy previously used items, but only when I know that I ’ m buying used and can inspect the product first, and usually at a discount. I was fully expecting ” new ” here as It wasn ’ t indicated anywhere that I was getting a used or returned product and I didn ’ t get that. So 2 stars to Dick ’s for not being up front on the condition of what they ’ re selling, or checking the condition of the returns they ’ re reselling. [ Been wearing the Vasque breeze since 2016 and never had a blister in this boot. Quality is good, never had an issue. The only thing that wears is the tread which is to be expected from normal wear and tear and backpacking in extremely rocky conditions. Would recommend. I won ’ t wear anything else.

I have been buying the breeze boot for about 20 years now. I would agree that the laces need to be a bit longer so you can double tie them. On zappos web site they advertise that the 7742 has gore tex lining and vibram soles, you might want to check on that one. Other than that the boots are really comfortable.

I 've been through many iterations of the Vasque Breeze, for hiking, search/rescue, and everyday wear. I 'm now looking for a new pair of the 7742, but I see much to my disappointment that the outer sole is no longer Vibram. The part number is the same, but the sole is n't. I wo n't bet my life on anything other than Vibram, so that's the end of the Breeze for me. RIP.

[ I bought a pair Korkers Polar Vortex 1200g boots after my kids talked me into. They ate like mini furnaces on your feet. They are crazy waterproof. If you have skinny chicken legs like I do, an extra pair of socks maybe needed. The Boa system is sick!! It takes seconds to `` tie ``. Love these boots!!! After spending countless hours out on ice, in snow, watery slush. Feet stayed dry and warm.

[ I bought these for ice fishing. I needed a boot to be super warm& waterproof. Something that will still feel warm at 50mph and subzero air. These totally fit the bill. Very comfortable. The `` Boa system '' is really cool. Instead of leather or cotton laces, it's a wire system that tightens up to your comfort when you twist the button on the front. When you want `` out '' you pull the button out and the tongue loosens right up. Very convenient. I would recommend this boot for mostly active activities. I 'd to walk miles in them they are so comfortable, they also feel very sturdy and supportive which you 'd want in an ice fishing boot.

[ Spent quite a bit of time outside in the Xmas storm especially after the temps plunged and my feet stayed super warm and comfortable. I especially love the Boa lace system, makes it so easy to put on and take off. They are going to be excellent winter boots.

First, I ’ d like to share how amazing Vasque ’s customer service is. I initially purchased a differed boot that wasn ’ t hardy enough for the type of hiking I do- Vasque allowed me to return the boot immediately! So instead of going back to the brand I was with before( Scarpa) I decided to stick with Vasque and purchased this boot with my refund money. I am so glad I did. These boots really hold up with all the things the white mtns throw at you with little break in needed. I did need to loosely lace the boots and insert a toe box stretcher for my own needs but the boot has now confirmed to my foot. I fully submerged both feet by mistake several times. My feet were kept dry and warm. I felt my ankles were supported and my boots got more comfortable as my hike went on. I think I used the first 10 miles of the boot to break it in- and I just completed a 20 mile, 4 4000k peak hike in the whites. Zero blisters or hot points on my feet. Thank you vasque!!!

I bought these boots a month or two ago and honestly, I ’ ve been spoiled. No other shoe will do lol. I have hypermobile joints, arthritis in my feet, bunions, and roll my ankles a lot; I ’ ve been on the hunt for the perfect shoe for years so that I could not be in pain every time I walk and this is it! Fantastic arch support( especially with a memory foam Redwing insole), great ankle support( no more rolling ankles), and the fit and construction are perfect. Very little breaking in, just squeaky for a bit. Absolutely recommend for people with delicate feet or folks who need a lot of support! I can work on my feet all day and not feel any pain. Thank you Vasque, I ’ ll be back for more ❤️❤️ ALSO I was bar hopping in the pouring rain( do not recommend) and I was totally soaked except for my feet. 100% waterproof so far!!

I bought these boots three years ago to use exclusively for hiking. The break- in was painful but quick. Once broken in they feel like slippers. So much so that I wear them everyday as my work boots. I install landscape lighting daily and I ’ m not kind to these boots. Three years later they are still performing better than any boot I ’ ve ever purchased. The soles are almost slicks but every morning I put these slippers on and go to work.

[ LOVE these shoes!!! So cute and comfortable. Needed warm, waterproof shoes with traction for a trip to Iceland. Straight out of the box these boots were comfy- no break in time necessary. Running around, prepping for trip, they kept my feet warm and dry in negative temps and snow. Standing for 4+ hours at a time, no problem. These were the only shoes I took on my 7- day trip: walking, hiking, ice, snow, rain, airports, shopping on cobblestone streets- you name it, I did it and my feet felt great. Fortunately I did not experience standing in deep snow or excessive rain, so I ca n't speak to how waterproof they are in extreme climates- but the limited rain and snow I encountered my feet stayed dry. Traction was good on snow and ice, I did n't slip or slide once. Use the website measurements to choose your size- it was spot on. These boots look amazing on- they do not make your feet look big and the cream color with the pink laces... cute, cute, cute!!!
