I spent 10 days hiking in these in the countryside of Beaujolais. They clean up well enough that one can go into a legit restaurant in them and not look too Bohemian. These come out the box with a good insole and minimal break in time, I ’ ve had some 14- 18 hour days on them and while my feet are tired and fatigued at the end of the day, they don ’ t hurt. They also provide great ankle support. I ’ ve worn it hiking, inside of shoothouse training, and during hog hunts and it ’s been a very reliable sturdy shoe for me. While it may be labeled “ waterproof ” I wouldn ’ t walk through deep water or soak them for hours on end and expect perfectly dry feet, it ’s unrealistic and not what it ’s built for in my opinion, it will keep them dry in rain or more shallow ankle deep water, or walking through wet fields. However nothing is perfect, if your looking for something to keep your feet from sweating this isn ’ t it, with them being the waterproof version your feet are going to sweat pretty good, I knew this going into it and therefor it didn ’ t bother me. But I would recommend a different version if you want a nice breathable shoe. The other thing I would change is how thick the tongue is, it doesn ’ t really rub or create hot spots or sit weird it ’s just a personal preference thing for me.

Thirty years ago I suffered a severe mid foot crush fracture which is now arthritic combined with areas of non- union. I have worn Morrell Moab 3 ’s for many years with orthotics and had the best support possible, but the antora has given me amazing pain free ambulation while walking our rural property and roads, as well as while shopping and walking the dogs. The shoes are lighter weight, still offer excellent support especially mid- foot, with quicker and easier breakover which makes an enormous difference to my gait and comfort. This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

I ’ ve worn these Wrapt Mid Waterproof boots daily for the past 8 months as a residential electrician in Southern California. As someone who usually wears barefoot- style shoes( Vivobarefoot, Flux, Lems Primal, and Altra Lone Peaks), I was pleasantly surprised by how well these hold up in a work environment. Fit& Comfort: I wear a size 13( EU 47), and the fit is perfect. If you ’ re in between sizes or prefer a roomier fit, definitely go up a size. These boots have a bit more cushion and slight arch support compared to more minimal brands like Vivo, but in a construction setting, I actually appreciate the extra sole thickness. My feet feel supported without losing that barefoot connection — and best of all, they ’ re not fatigued at the end of a long day. Performance: Traction is solid with good grip, though the aggressive lugs can hold onto dirt and debris. It hasn ’ t been an issue for me in SoCal, but it ’s something to keep in mind in muddier regions. Waterproofing has held up well. Durability: After 8 months of use, the only real sign of wear is the toe box starting to separate slightly. Not a dealbreaker, but something I hope Merrell improves in future versions. Wishlist for Future Versions: • A non- waterproof high- top version would be amazing — same support, but more breathability for dry climates. • Stronger toe construction to improve long- term durability. Bottom Line: If you ’ re looking for a minimalist- inspired boot that can handle job sites, this is one of the best options out there. It strikes a rare balance between barefoot feel and real- world utility.

[ Going with Columbia Sportswear again for my latest walking shoes. I am an avid walker who has not missed hitting 10k+ steps in a day since February 8, 2021. I was very happy with the Granite Trail I just finished burning through. Columbia seems to have stopped making the previous style, but I like these even more. Same great feel, but like the design and color options even more. I have gone through a lot of shoes over the years and Columbia Sports shoes differentiate with their solid construction, comfort and durability —the fit is true to size. These boots are great for someone looking for the support of a high top boot without the weight. They are super durable and held up well on a rafting trip through the Yukon, British Columbia, and Alaska. They kept my feet warm and dry around camp and had a fantastic supportive footbed and grippy sole for hiking. They do run rather small and narrow, so I recommend trying these on to see what size and width works best for you!

I ’ ve had these shoes for a little over a week and I ’ ve worn them to work, out running errands, and on a 5 mile hike and they ’ ve been very comfortable, versatile, lightweight, and seem very durable! Not to mention they ’ re the CUTEST hikers! Love the colorway and silhouette, all in all a very aesthetic yet functional shoe. I got these for work, I work in landscape. I really love the style of these, I get lots of compliments on them. I got the tan leather color which I love. originally went half size bigger like website suggested but it was to big so I went with my true size a 10. I ’ ve worn them the last week so far so good took a day to break them in they were tiny bit stiff but so far I enjoy them. Wore them during the rain as well and was impressed with the waterproofing feet stayed nice and dry.

I took these on my rafting trip down the GRAND CANYON. I brought them for the side hikes from the river. Which are usually washes with some water crossings. These shoes did so well! They have incredible traction for climbing over big rocks in dry washes, or on slick ledges. The traction is incredible! They were comfortable right off the go and my custom orthotics fit in then since they have a removable foot bed. I loved these boots on the trip! Completely waterproof over the foot but if water gets up to the mid part where the laces are water does come in. I am going to look for a goretex hiking gater for that.

I purchased these boots for winter hiking in the Sierra Nevada. I originally ordered an 8. 5, but the boot felt a bit tight and ordered a half size larger. These boots are warm and waterproof, which was exactly what I was looking for. The snow levels were n't very high, so the boot height was perfect. I think pair with gaiters, they would suffice in deeper snow. My micro spikes fit well with this design of the boot, as well. Not only are they cute, but they are comfortable out of the box, as well.

Bought these as a work shoe as I work in hvac and am anywhere from rooftops to crawl spaces, outdoors in the woods to city sidewalks. They are very comfortable and keep my feet dry in the rain and breathe enough so I don ’ t sweat like crazy in the hot attics. The sole has enough grip to keep me from slipping on wet banks. I feel like I have some extra spring in my step with the thick cushiony heel on these boots. My only complaint is the elastic cord for the lace eyelets. On the left boot the cord is cut too long inside the shoe and if my foot is pressed up against anything on the outside it hurts. Other than that I ’ m very pleased.

These boots are exactly what I was looking for- I hiked 20 miles of rocky, snowy mountain trails and my feet never hurt, the waterproofing is excellent and my feet were never wet hiking through snow or on rainy days in the city. One caution- these are fairly low, so your ankles might get a little wet when walking for a while in the rain, but it ’s worth the low profile style. I wear a 10 running shoe and a 9. 5 fit perfect. [ I was on a quest to find a waterproof, cushioned hiking shoe for Torres del Paine “ O ” backpacking trek The final pairs were from Columbia and Hoka Speedgoat. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.
