I ’ m on my second pair. They last about 14 months for me. But I truly don ’ t mind because these are by far the most comfortable deck boot/shoe whatever you wan na call it that I ’ ve worn. I compare the soul of the boot to one of the “ helm pads ” that are nice and squishy and comfy to save your feet back and knees on those nasty days running in a 27 ’ cc. With these no matter where you stand you have a helm pad under your feet. I ’ ve had many pairs of the original 6 ” xtratufs over the years and one pair of all black leathers 6 ” boots for work and the sports are still by far my favorite. I love these Merrells. They are sturdy, stable and feel like a running shoe. This is my 3rd pair. I have these also in a wide and is a low quarter version. I use them for hiking, dog walking in the rain and snow and walking around our land. I have used them in pouring rain and my feet stayed dry. I dont think they are sturdy enough for heavy backpacking but for a light day pack, no problem. Size wise I usually wear a 9. 5 in running and training shoes and I ordered a 10 in these and they were good. I prefer the wide version though as it gives me just a bit more toe box room, not necessarily extra width but roomier. I am hoping these will break in enough to be as comfortable as the wider version. But a great comfortable boot overall.

Bought these since I moved from AK over to the east coast. Wanted something lighter and a bit more breathable than the womens legacy boots. I wore these everywhere. Gardening, hiking, walking the dog 3+miles a day, to work, doing errands, slipping them on in the early morning to pick up dog poop. These were easy to slip on and off. My feet stayed dry. In the dead of summer, they can get a bit hot. My regular running shoes are even hot! but overall my feet did not overheat. The shoes had great traction. It's been about a year and they are still great. I may have worn down the soles from so much use. My only con is: the foot cushions might stick to your bare feet if you do n't wear socks.

Having previously owned a pair of Timberland SmartWool slip- ons that were wonderful to wear, I gave the Mt. Maddsen slip- ons a try. They did not disappoint. The leather uppers softened and molded themselves to fit my foot so they have become my preferred shoe for working in the yard as well as hiking. They shed water well and the thick soles keep my foot out of puddles in the rain. After 2 years of hard use( I write this in 2024) the soles are worn, but no separation at all from the leather uppers. Very well made.( This is for the model A6660 made in Vietnam)

Bought these as soon as they came out for a busy summer. My first adventure was a Grand Canyon Rim- 2- Rim hike in July. 24+ miles in one day. These were fantastic. Perfect in the extreme heat and dried relatively quickly after a few stream crossings. I then wore these on a 24 hour( 42 mile) hike through the mountains of north Georgia. Very hot and humid, and again no issues with discomfort or blisters. Even after wading through several streams. I have over 100 miles in these and my feet were not a factor and I never thought about my shoes.

I 've been wearing Lone Peaks for a long time, and the Timp is even a step up from those other early models. Though I 've had surgery on both feet and ca n't wear a lot of other hikers, these are comfortable in all aspects. Lightweight, not too hot, good toe room, great look, quick to dry. They seem sturdy so far. Two small complaints- wish the tongue was gusseted to keep debris out, and would like a swatch of heel velcro for gaiters. But those are minor issues. I will be buying a second pair to keep on the shelf until next year or whenever these wear out. Highly recommend.

This hiking shoe is so smooth. The weight of the shoe is so light which is exactly what I need with ankle issues. I went half a step up because I wear ankle braces that fit comfortably inside the shoe. I usually wear an 11 in Altra but got 11. 5 to accommodate the ankle supports. The high top hides most of my ankle support which is nice. I highly recommend this shoe for those that are challenged physically by their feet with some mobility issues. For me it means I can enjoy more pain- fee hikes and walks around the city/country.

I was thinking about getting XtraTuf boots for a long time but never had any reason to until I started needing a waterproof boot that wasn ’ t a full tall winter boot. I ’ m glad I got them. They aren ’ t breathable( as I expected) due to the waterproofing of the boot, but the fact that they are short boots helps them breathe a little more than a tall boot. They are very comfortable and I have even wore them for short hikes because I decided not to change my shoes. They have quickly became my everyday winter shoe/boot. I love the purple color, it is so fun, but when mud splashed on them it stays visible until you wash it off. The one time I did scrub them off they did clean up relatively nicely, but if you want an easier maintenance boot, I would get a darker color.

They were definitely a bit stiff the first 2 weeks I 'd say. But now my foot easily slips in and out of the shoe. I noticed a little bit of rubbing on my ankle in those first two weeks but that has gone away. I have high arches and usually put some inserts into my shoes. I bought these boots for a snowboard trip to Big Sky Montana. I went on the trip with my daughter and her husband and 13 month old( not to snowboard!) I l have been wearing these boots since I got here! I love them! They even double as slippers on the cold floor!

Got these for the winter walks and visits to the park with the dog. They are very warm and comfortable( like walking on a cloud). They are a bit snug in the toe area so suggest wearing a thinner sock with them.

Excellent quality! Light weight, warm and cozy, and good looking! The lining is great for someone like me that does not like to wear socks. I have wide feet, so ordered half a size up and they are perfect. I got them on sale, which is another bonus. These booties are about half of the price of Hunter Booties but more comfortable and better looking in my opinion.

Close but no cigar
[ The boot is nice, fits well and I do like them except for the last two bootlace eyelet hooks. They should be just hooks. Having to lace through the eyelets rather than just hooking and tying take away from the nice design. I may have to have them replace with hooks. four stars for the design but the execution well.....
