I 've used them for everything- and with the waterproof ones- in any weather. I 've never needed more boot on my feet. Right now, I own two pair at once, simply because the older pair does n't look so great out in public, not because they 're shot. I ’ ve been wearing Merrill shoes since I was in the Army. I got this particular model in 2010 and it felt like I was Spider- Man humping up and down the Hindu Kush. I also recommend the chameleons! So now that it ’s been ten years I picked up going for long walks and was wearing tennis shoes. I went back to these and love them! The only issue is my left foot toe bed was rubbing but it ’s an uncommon issue and only happened AFTER my eight miles during a cool down mile. I previously did ten miles in these and had no issue! No limping, no true pain beyond having walked ten/eight miles, no blisters. I ’ m happy the quality is still top notch since 2010.

Where did I take my new shoes? First trip is to Portugal, including beaches, cobblestone streets, hiking on gravel and stone paths. And yes, a bit of water to test the waterproof claim. I had to rinse- n- wear and sometimes just kept going as is( depending on our activity for the day); they never failed me once. Through relatively short hikes, long walks, swimming…this shoe never caused hot- spots or blisters. Sizing: I normally wear an 11. 5- 12 so I chose an 11. 5 in this shoe. Perfect! Keep in mind, I ’ m an easy fit for shoes since I have a pretty generic foot size and shape. Extra tip, I normally spray my feet with antiperspirant but these shoes stayed wet for nearly two weeks so odor was never as issue. I ’ d buy again and definitely recommend. Last note, there was an issue with delivery due to UPS, not Keen. However, when I emailed Keen, they responded within minutes. The issue resolved itself. I was just glad to see Keen so “ Keen ” to respond quickly.

Dear KEEN, You 've done it again! At first during the unboxing I was n't that excited when I saw the mid sole( I just spent the last 4+ years in the KEEN SOLR/green with full gum sole/much wider toe box/amazing shoe) wrap up on the toe box. Looks amazing! Performance blows looks out of the water! I had these on from Upstate South Carolina all the way to Saco Montana via RV this year. I got to test these out in all situations and they are great for whatever task is at hand. The foam mid sole and gum sole work as a team keeping your foot planted. On and off is simple. I even slide these on like a crush down heel. No matter the terrain this is a solid platform for your feet, extremely comfortable and they look pretty sweet.

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. These come out the box with a good insole and minimal break in time, I ’ ve had some 14- 18 hour days on them and while my feet are tired and fatigued at the end of the day, they don ’ t hurt. They also provide great ankle support. I ’ ve worn it hiking, inside of shoothouse training, and during hog hunts and it ’s been a very reliable sturdy shoe for me. While it may be labeled “ waterproof ” I wouldn ’ t walk through deep water or soak them for hours on end and expect perfectly dry feet, it ’s unrealistic and not what it ’s built for in my opinion, it will keep them dry in rain or more shallow ankle deep water, or walking through wet fields. However nothing is perfect, if your looking for something to keep your feet from sweating this isn ’ t it, with them being the waterproof version your feet are going to sweat pretty good, I knew this going into it and therefor it didn ’ t bother me. But I would recommend a different version if you want a nice breathable shoe. The other thing I would change is how thick the tongue is, it doesn ’ t really rub or create hot spots or sit weird it ’s just a personal preference thing for me.

I love this shoe for it's stability and outdoor- ability. I do a lot of walking, training and working outdoors, and need a shoe with fantastic support and stability due to a previous foot injury. The SFB is the bomb- totally fits the bill. It has a wide platform, is supportive but flexible once worn a couple of times and it's easy to clean. I have had some trouble with the rear of the shoe wearing out, and they are 'slick' before you wear them in, but these are minor things.

I 've been wearing these for work for the previous couple years. My first pair had the carbon shank, the second pair does n't have the shank. Either way, they 've made perfect work shoes. They 're tough, take a beating, and look cool too. You should go a half size up for a good fit as these do run a bit small. I have a wider foot, which this shoe accommodates perfectly. Please Nike, do not discontinue this one for a loooooong time. Haaa, love these.

This is my second pair and they are very comfortable! This version of the SFB is awesome and quite frankly Nike should make a full boot version of this shoe! I did enjoy the SFB Gen 2 boots but the Carbon version is much, much better!

I absolutely love the feel and how lightweight the shoe is. I think they also look sharp but the top lace holes do not really allow for the best placement for a snug fit for my ankle. Still a great shoe without a doubt.

I hike in a local park with my lab about 6 miles 4- 5 days a week. Merrels are my go to. These are very comfortable and sturdy shoes. We recently had 8 '' of snow and took them out for a hike. My feet stayed warm and dry through the whole 6 miles. Great hikers!

I had my last pair for 3 years and wore them every day. Very comfortable. Hard to find the style in them I want, with velcro strap around ankle. Could n't find them at all last year. But they last forever and wonderfully comfortable! I do wish they came in more colors. Grey or black instead of always brown. Great otherwise!
