I usually struggle to keep my running shoes clean during the wet months, but the ankle cuff provides a sock- like feel while keeping dirt or water out from the inside to keep you dry during those runs. Plus, you only need to rinse with water with these, so they are extremely convenient for easy and effortless cleaning. While these do have ReactX, I did find them to have a more firm feel compared to my normal running pair, the Pegasus 41, but after a few runs in these I appreciated the traction for stability in the Peg Trail 5 ’s which help me feel supported especially on slippery terrain and unstable ground. I 've only had them a couple of days. I am not a runner; I got into Hokas due to plantar faciitis recommendation from an ortho doc. These are not as comfortable as my Hoka Bondis, but they are still pretty good; I wanted these GTX so I had a waterproof pair for traveling in the UK. Size: I am 75 years old; I have worn either a 12. 5 or a 13 for the past 50 years! I never before put on a pair of 13s and found them to be too small. And not even a little, but waaaay too small! As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. These are fantastic shoes that offer great stability, decent protection against water, and great comfort.

The Zegama 2 has so far been a great shoe. My search for a shoe like this began when my Pegasus 4 GTX's finally hit the retirement cycle of shoes. The Pegasus 4 GTX's were some of the( if not the top) most comfortable shoes that I had ever had while also being capable of light outdoor activities. My instinct was to replace them with the Pegasus 5 GTX's. After exchanging sizes several times, I finally just return the 5's. They were just too tight, did n't fit right, and created a lot of foot pain. I decided to try the Zegama 2's. I actually had my eye on them during my transition from the Pegasus 4's!. These things remind me of the o'so comfortable Pegasus 4 GTX's. The Zegama 2's offer great bounce, support, and comfort! The grip is incredible too, it simply rocks. I play a lot of disc golf and these things have held true in any condition that I 've been in, wet, dry, muddy, slippery, you name it. Also, running any sort of distance in these feels great. They provide great bounce and support. I have n't ran a particularly long distance in them, maybe around 4 miles so far, which felt great and natural. I would n't second guess doubling that mileage or more. Overall these are great. Do n't think twice, grab a pair!.

I ’ ve been wearing Merrill shoes since I was in the Army. I got this particular model in 2010 and it felt like I was Spider- Man humping up and down the Hindu Kush. I also recommend the chameleons! So now that it ’s been ten years I picked up going for long walks and was wearing tennis shoes. I went back to these and love them! The only issue is my left foot toe bed was rubbing but it ’s an uncommon issue and only happened AFTER my eight miles during a cool down mile. I previously did ten miles in these and had no issue! Very nice lightweight( Merrell calls light- hiking) shoe with a lug sole that compares with a moderate or full hiking shoe. Sole not as stiff as heavier duty hikers but does the job well for me in moderate to difficult trails.

I hike in a local park with my lab about 6 miles 4- 5 days a week. Merrels are my go to. These are very comfortable and sturdy shoes. We recently had 8 '' of snow and took them out for a hike. My feet stayed warm and dry through the whole 6 miles. Great hikers!

I 've tried many brands of hiking shoes and this one is the best and the most durable one that I 've ever worn. Nice and roomy in the toe box. They are extremely light which is important to me doing long day hikes. The toe area is reinforced with a rubberized area. With some other brands my toe has actually worn thru the top fabric creating a hole. With the reinforced toe area that would be impossible with these shoes. I like these shoes so much that I have three pairs of these shoes now.

This is my first pair of Keen shoes. I am a heavy equipment tech and spend 10- 12 hrs per day on my feet. Have delt with supination for years. Bought these at a local boot store. [ So far I have hiked with these shoes a little over 20mi. I hiked Mount Monadnock two days each day around 10mi. They are very lightweight while being pretty supportive. I definitely felt confident using these shoes on the Spellman, Pompelly,& Marlboro Trails. Spellman being the steepest trail on the mountain, I had no problem climbing off trail on the steep granite slabs. I was able to use the flat toe part of the boot to to support myself while standing on small cracks in the rock like I was wearing a climbing shoe. It was awesome! I felt like a kid at the playground! Terrain was mostly dry, but there were a couple wet spots that the Megagrip sole did perform well on. Temperature was in the low 70 ’ sF. The only negative I have about the boot, is that it does not breathe well. My feet did sweat considerably wearing a lightweight synthetic sock. Both days I took my shoes and socks off at the summit and removed the Ortholite insoles to dry for a half hour in the sun and wind. The inside of the boots didn ’ t fully dry out. The Ortholight insole mostly dried, because they are very thin. Inersoles could be a little thicker to provide more cushioning, but overall my feet felt good at the end of both hikes. These are aggressive trails for breaking in new shoes, but they felt pretty good out of the box, so I went for it. I think these boots will be best for shoulder season hikes and hikes taking you above tree line. Can ’ t wait to take them to Mount Washington NH!
