I usually struggle to keep my running shoes clean during the wet months, but the ankle cuff provides a sock- like feel while keeping dirt or water out from the inside to keep you dry during those runs. Plus, you only need to rinse with water with these, so they are extremely convenient for easy and effortless cleaning. While these do have ReactX, I did find them to have a more firm feel compared to my normal running pair, the Pegasus 41, but after a few runs in these I appreciated the traction for stability in the Peg Trail 5 ’s which help me feel supported especially on slippery terrain and unstable ground. These do fit true to size so I recommend sticking with your normal running shoe size for the best fit.

I bought the shoes because we own 2 large Golden Doodles who need to go outside or be walked several times a day. Sometimes we run. These shoes have gone thru mud, snow, puddles, and more, and never missed a beat. My feet stayed dry and I just rinsed the shoes upon returning inside and good as new. I normally wear a 7. 5, but sized up to an 8 and the fit is perfect. I really like the extra room in the toebox, so I can wiggle my toes. However, the shoes do tend to run a bit narrow, so just a heads up if you have a wide foot. The shoes easily accomodated my orthotic once I pulled out the insole provided.( Hey, Nike, these shoes should have a unglued, easily removable, insole!) Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase.

As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. Excellent, durable shoes with great support. These shoes hold up well and are excellent hiking and walking shoes, and are very comfortable to wear all day long. That said, if anyone is listening at Merrell- the cleats on the soles of the shoes are shaped in a way that makes them prone to picking up stones/gravel, and so they have to be removed before entering my home( hardwood floors). Many other shoes do n't have this problem.

Overall a great shoe, I have plantar fasciitis and this shoe doesn ’ t make feet hurt. It ’s really comfortable and it grips the rocks and dirt perfectly. It does add about an inch to your height as well.

A wide fit would have been preferable, but fortunately the regular fit was just fine for my wide feet. They are actually the 2nd pair( color) of that model and my most comfortable shoes.

[ I absolutely love these shoes. I work at a desk but need to be ready at any given time to go outside to lead a hike, help with mowing a campsite, or anything else. These shoes provide the ability to do that. They were comfortable the first day I wore them. I took a hike to some ice formations and they provided excellent stability and traction on the way there and on the ice. They are true to size. I can wear these with regular cotton socks but can also comfortably wear wool socks too. I have not tested the waterproof capabilities so I can ’ t comment on that feature.

I love the grippy nubs on the bottom of these shoes that prevent you from slipping on rocks. I also appreciate the fact that the sides are waterproof, which keeps my toes from getting wet and keeps them cleaner. I preferred the ones with thicker soles, and I 'm sad those are no longer available!

I will admit I was hesitant at first, my older model of the Cascadia was pretty firm and not the most comfortable. Whatever was done on this design, Brooks nailed it. The shoe was comfortable, had just the right amount of cushion, held up to the trail terrain, and looks sharp. Not to mention, it is waterproof and easy to clean.
