After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. These are fantastic shoes that offer great stability, decent protection against water, and great comfort.

I ’ ve been wearing Merrill shoes since I was in the Army. I got this particular model in 2010 and it felt like I was Spider- Man humping up and down the Hindu Kush. I also recommend the chameleons! So now that it ’s been ten years I picked up going for long walks and was wearing tennis shoes. I went back to these and love them! The only issue is my left foot toe bed was rubbing but it ’s an uncommon issue and only happened AFTER my eight miles during a cool down mile. I previously did ten miles in these and had no issue! Bought these for Hawaii. Wore them through salt water, fresh water, over pumic and concrete streets/sidewalks- never missed a beat!! I had to rinse- n- wear and sometimes just kept going as is( depending on our activity for the day); they never failed me once. Through relatively short hikes, long walks, swimming…this shoe never caused hot- spots or blisters. Sizing: I normally wear an 11. 5- 12 so I chose an 11. 5 in this shoe. Perfect! Keep in mind, I ’ m an easy fit for shoes since I have a pretty generic foot size and shape. Extra tip, I normally spray my feet with antiperspirant but these shoes stayed wet for nearly two weeks so odor was never as issue. I ’ d buy again and definitely recommend. Last note, there was an issue with delivery due to UPS, not Keen. However, when I emailed Keen, they responded within minutes. The issue resolved itself. I was just glad to see Keen so “ Keen ” to respond quickly.

At first during the unboxing I was n't that excited when I saw the mid sole( I just spent the last 4+ years in the KEEN SOLR/green with full gum sole/much wider toe box/amazing shoe) wrap up on the toe box. I 've been using these for my outdoor gardening and landscaping projects and my initial impression was shock at just how comfortable they were. In using them, working all day, my feet were n't sore like they have been with other boots. I absolutely loved that I could just straight hose them off at the end of the day, when they say waterproof, they mean waterproof. Not just part of the boot, the whole thing. 10/10 would recommend. Pro tip, get a size bigger than your normal size, and if it's not snug enough, pick up an insole to add in it.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit! The shoes seemed narrow at first, but after wearing them a couple of times, they ’ re as comfortable as my Moab ’s.

I love these hiking shoes! I took them hiking in the PNW, and they were very supportive and still held up really well on very rocky trails. They especially felt very good descending on hikes, they did not hurt your toes like a lot of other shoes/boots do. I ordered a half size up, but they are pretty true to size.
