These are extremely lightweight and comfortable for me. I ’ m pretty thin though, and I can see why some say they have trouble fitting with wider feet/ankles. The shoe has no tongue, so it doesn ’ t splay open as far as other shoes. If you have big ankles and/or wear your tennies wide open& untied, this shoe will not work out for you. This is for people who cinch& tie their shoes so they can be active without them falling off. If you ’ re going to give these a shot, know that they are oddly small in length relative just about any other shoe of the same size. I read this in reviews, so I ordered a half- size up& my toes are still right at the end of the shoe. Full size up recommended.

[ I was on a quest to find a waterproof, cushioned hiking shoe for Torres del Paine “ O ” backpacking trek The final pairs were from Columbia and Hoka Speedgoat. The Peakfreak was my final choice as I found that the cushioning level matched that of Hoka, without the bulk. I completed the trek and was compelled to write this review as the Peakfreak surpassed my expectations. The trek was around 70 miles with unforgiving terrain. This shoe softened the impact on my low back and foot pads, yet was sturdy for the uneven trail. We hiked through snow, rivers, mud and my feet remained dry. The soles gripped every rock and slippery root. My Peakfreaks kept me upright while others were slipping and losing traction. Oh, and no blisters and no break- in necessary. The only recommendation is to order 1/2 size up. I ’ m a true 9 1/2 and my toes were a bit crammed. I bought a size 10 and it fit perfectly.

Running around, prepping for trip, they kept my feet warm and dry in negative temps and snow. Standing for 4+ hours at a time, no problem. These were the only shoes I took on my 7- day trip: walking, hiking, ice, snow, rain, airports, shopping on cobblestone streets- you name it, I did it and my feet felt great. Fortunately I did not experience standing in deep snow or excessive rain, so I ca n't speak to how waterproof they are in extreme climates- but the limited rain and snow I encountered my feet stayed dry. Traction was good on snow and ice, I did n't slip or slide once. Use the website measurements to choose your size- it was spot on. These boots look amazing on- they do not make your feet look big and the cream color with the pink laces... cute, cute, cute!!! These come out the box with a good insole and minimal break in time, I ’ ve had some 14- 18 hour days on them and while my feet are tired and fatigued at the end of the day, they don ’ t hurt. They also provide great ankle support. I ’ ve worn it hiking, inside of shoothouse training, and during hog hunts and it ’s been a very reliable sturdy shoe for me. While it may be labeled “ waterproof ” I wouldn ’ t walk through deep water or soak them for hours on end and expect perfectly dry feet, it ’s unrealistic and not what it ’s built for in my opinion, it will keep them dry in rain or more shallow ankle deep water, or walking through wet fields. However nothing is perfect, if your looking for something to keep your feet from sweating this isn ’ t it, with them being the waterproof version your feet are going to sweat pretty good, I knew this going into it and therefor it didn ’ t bother me. But I would recommend a different version if you want a nice breathable shoe. The other thing I would change is how thick the tongue is, it doesn ’ t really rub or create hot spots or sit weird it ’s just a personal preference thing for me.

I ’ ve been wearing Merrill shoes since I was in the Army. I got this particular model in 2010 and it felt like I was Spider- Man humping up and down the Hindu Kush. I also recommend the chameleons! So now that it ’s been ten years I picked up going for long walks and was wearing tennis shoes. I went back to these and love them! The only issue is my left foot toe bed was rubbing but it ’s an uncommon issue and only happened AFTER my eight miles during a cool down mile. I previously did ten miles in these and had no issue! No limping, no true pain beyond having walked ten/eight miles, no blisters. I ’ m happy the quality is still top notch since 2010.

I learned very quickly that the Sorel Caribou boot was the Best way to keep feet dry and relatively warm in the Great white Tundra of the North East states. This is my third pair of Danner ’s I also have a pair of Bull run moc toe and Loggers 917 gtx. This pair like the loggers I had to break in but only because my feet have bunions and the the toe box is a bit more narrow. Other than that they fit like a glove and the more I wear them the more comfortable they get. I love the way they look. Will buy another in the future.

The elastic gussets in the side make these comfortable right out of the box. The leather was soft enough to set a nice toe crease. I ’ ll be wear these day after day, delivering mail on a walking route, and look forward to resoleing them multiple times.

I 'm so happy with these sneaker boots! I bought them for the winter and ended up wearing them for work shoes. I had just gotten a free pair of work shoes and within weeks I decided to wear my sorels for work. They have also become my daily shoe. I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes because I have flat feet. Arches are my nemesis, however these support my arches perfectly. They may be a little narrow in the toe box for some. I normally wear an 8 1/2 and got them in the same size. They were a little snug in the fore foot, yet quickly loosened up. I got them in black and have gotten lots of compliments.

I love these winter sneaker booties. They are very warm and comfortable. I am a size 7 in pretty much all shoes and I bought these in a size 7. While they are snug, they are n't uncomfortably snug at all. Fit like a glove with normal socks. I would not be able to wear thick winter socks with them, but they are so warm I do n't know why I would ever want to. The only comment about style- I disliked the orange laces alot. So I purchased some beige ones on another site and they look much nicer.
