As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. These are fantastic shoes that offer great stability, decent protection against water, and great comfort.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit! The boots are great! Handled spring time in Colorado so raining, ice, sleet and then snow all in one day. I mucked horse stalls and had very warm feet while doing that chore. I was outside for 2 hours and my feet and calves didn ’ t get cold. I was able to walk uphill on ice and not slip. They are comfortable and require little “ break in ”. Great purchase.

[ I absolutely love these shoes. I work at a desk but need to be ready at any given time to go outside to lead a hike, help with mowing a campsite, or anything else. These shoes provide the ability to do that. They were comfortable the first day I wore them. I took a hike to some ice formations and they provided excellent stability and traction on the way there and on the ice. They are true to size. I can wear these with regular cotton socks but can also comfortably wear wool socks too. I have not tested the waterproof capabilities so I can ’ t comment on that feature.

This is my forth pair of these shoes. I wear them every day( whether I 'm going hiking or going to work) and they me last 4- 5 years. I like them because they 're very comfortable and the GORE- TEX keeps my feet dry. They also get a great grip on the trail and protect my feet from all manner of trail hazards. On the negative side, the sole separates from the shoe after a few years. It ’s possible to glue the sole back on, but for what these cost, the soles shouldn ’ t come unglued.

It is fairly stiff( good support) and the rubber is substantial and hard. It is n't super light or the most cushioned shoe. Definitely not for trail running of any kind. There are better shoes for light, fast, and cushiony( see Salomon Speedcross). I wanted these for short hikes on rough terrain or as a simple walkaround shoe or working in the yard. If you do n't want full leather or something similar but a little lighter and breathable check out the Oboz Firebrand.

I ’ m a size 12 through and through, but these in the same size were tight. The toe box is smaller than normal. Also you need to take into account feet swelling and perhaps thicker socks. I wore these for the first time all day hiking around Grand Cyn Village. I was surprised there was no uncomfortable rubbing or stiffness which is very common with new hiking shoes. I was very impressed!

I have been buying these boots for over ten years now and must be on my 10th or 11th pair. I have flat feet, suffer from plantar fasciitis, and have had a bad case of heel spur,( pain at night and at every step). Then I bought my first pair of Salomon Quest's 4, added some green superfeet insoles( which I wear in all other footwear as well/ but wo n't get the same result) and within a year of wearing these boots for 90% of my walking time about 12000 steps a day, 7 days a week at the time, my heel spur was completely gone, dissolved, my plantar fasciitis pain gone!! No more feeling like walking on rocks when getting out of bed, foot pain gone! This is my first pair of Salomon boots, and I have been very impressed so far. I bought them for hiking, but it's been hard not to wear them every day. They are extremely comfortable, breathe well, and are lighter than some of my sneakers. My one complaint is that I wish the speed hooks at the top were a bit deeper or angled differently. Even laced relatively tightly, I have had a few instances where a lace slipped out of the hook.

I got these after talking to a product specialist at REI. I learned about my arched feet and listened some general pointers that made a whole lot of sense to me. Until then, I usually did my hiking and backpacking with sneakers. Fashion wise, these things look pretty cool, no doubt, however they are a bit flashy for my tastes. I ’ m pretty skinny too so when I wear shorts with these I feel like I ’ m wearing clown shoes. When I hit the trail with these, oh man, it was like night and day in terms of comfort, traction, and foot support( in no particular order). I no longer have to watch my footing to prevent slipping when ascending hills on trails. My feet feel well supported when walking over rocks. As a matter of fact, the sole tech feels like a biolayer that adjusts itself to the bends my feet do when going over uneven terrain. It ’s just bananas! It ’s quite comfortable too and my arches feel supported; not sure how beneficial it is biomechanically, especially as I am currently being sucked into the world of the zero drop/barefoot peeps, but it sure feels comfortable! The REI rep did mention that having good foot support helps with endurance on long distance hikes so that is something I will pay attention to on my next 10+ mile hike. As I learned that my right foot was slightly longer than my left, this could explain why a blister developed on my right foot around the back of the heel ball. I ’ m hoping that after a few more hikes this won ’ t happen anymore. I haven ’ t been able to test out the goretex with water yet( as soon as I do another hike with a running stream, these bad boys are going in), but they seem to breath well. I did a 5 mile ridge hike with them that included multiple cresting points when it was around 80 with no shade and my feet didn ’ t feel too hot after. And since I brought up the barefeet people, I just want to mention the 11mm drop does kind of bothers me. Maybe I ’ m focused on it more, but I feel like there is no space between my heel and the ground when I take a step on level ground; it also feels like my knees are taking the brunt of the impacts when I strike down. However, descending down slopes feels great! The shoe also feels pretty sturdy, however I am eyeing the crease where the shoe bends in the toe box during heel uplift. I intend to care for these shoes after use to see how long I can wear them since I hear a lot about how these types of shoes( trail runners, or a hybrid of one in this case) aren ’ t durable. Anyways, hope to write good things after a year of moderate to heavy use( which for me would be like 100- 250 miles but hopefully more).

I bought these boots I swear about 8 years ago and they are still going strong. I have worn these two work and worn them to climb and hike and my feet have never gotten wet. They are better suited for the cold but I 've worn them all year long. I really ca n't believe how long they 're lasting. And I really ca n't believe they still have this model. Usually they change or discontinue a model of shoe but these bridgers are awesome.

[ This is the second pair of Oboz for my husband. He previously wore Keen and they developed holes after 6 months. Decided to try Oboz and he loves the fit. Expensive... yet hopefully they last longer than all the others he has worn.

[ This is my 4th pair of Oboz Bridgers. I use the 10 '' insulated for winter hiking and snowshoeing, the low for rocky terrain in warm weather, and have been running a set of Premium Mids for fall hiking. These things are incredibly well constructed, very supportive, totally waterproof, and super comfortable. With my current mids having put in a long service life, including plenty of winter wear, I was due for a new set. They 've made some thoughtful improvements to the tongue and lace hooks, but everything else that I love about the shoes remains intact. The factory insoles are great, but I do swap them out for a set of Superfeet as a personal preference. Despite a lack of insulation and good breathability, there is enough material and protection to make these a bit stifling in warm weather. The added benefit is that they are great during chilly hikes in late fall and make great everyday shoes for winter. As has been my experience with Oboz, I did bump up a half size and it fits perfectly.

[ This is my second pair of Oboz Boots, having purchased and used the Yellowstone II several years ago and wearing them on numerous hikes and camping trips. I ’ m still breaking them in, but I am very happy with them so far. The color( Sahara) doesn ’ t look at all like the pictures online and they are actually much more olive green in reality. Personally I like the actual color even better than the online pics. Comfort was fairly good out of the box…there is a spot on the outside of the left boot that can get uncomfortable after a full day of wear, but I ’ m guessing this will work out with more break in since they are leather. Overall they feel very well made and look great. Weight feels good for the level of protection and durability offered. I can ’ t wait to get them out on the trails!

Straight out of the box, I knew I was in love. They are rugged, lightweight, and good- looking. The first outing was on a very uneven rocky beach and they preformed beautifully. I purchased the wide and glad I did.

First, I ’ d like to share how amazing Vasque ’s customer service is. I initially purchased a differed boot that wasn ’ t hardy enough for the type of hiking I do- Vasque allowed me to return the boot immediately! So instead of going back to the brand I was with before( Scarpa) I decided to stick with Vasque and purchased this boot with my refund money. I am so glad I did. These boots really hold up with all the things the white mtns throw at you with little break in needed. I did need to loosely lace the boots and insert a toe box stretcher for my own needs but the boot has now confirmed to my foot. I fully submerged both feet by mistake several times. My feet were kept dry and warm. I felt my ankles were supported and my boots got more comfortable as my hike went on. I think I used the first 10 miles of the boot to break it in- and I just completed a 20 mile, 4 4000k peak hike in the whites. Zero blisters or hot points on my feet. Thank you vasque!!!

I bought these boots a month or two ago and honestly, I ’ ve been spoiled. No other shoe will do lol. I have hypermobile joints, arthritis in my feet, bunions, and roll my ankles a lot; I ’ ve been on the hunt for the perfect shoe for years so that I could not be in pain every time I walk and this is it! Fantastic arch support( especially with a memory foam Redwing insole), great ankle support( no more rolling ankles), and the fit and construction are perfect. Very little breaking in, just squeaky for a bit. Absolutely recommend for people with delicate feet or folks who need a lot of support! I can work on my feet all day and not feel any pain. Thank you Vasque, I ’ ll be back for more ❤️❤️ ALSO I was bar hopping in the pouring rain( do not recommend) and I was totally soaked except for my feet. 100% waterproof so far!!
