After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. I have been a long time Hoka Stinson wearer for hiking but the soles do n't hold up well for Grand Canyon and slick rock hiking. I decided to try the Olympus 6's and have been very pleased. The Vibram soles are grippy and durable with the same plush cushioning that I enjoyed with the Hokas. The Olympus runs about 1/2 smaller than the Hokas which caused the hassle of sending back a pair. There was a break in period for the cushioned heel but felt much better after a week. I 'm wearing them for a rim to rim later this month and if they do well with that, I 'm hooked.

Bought these and tried to walk around the house. They were comfortable enough but my feet just look so much bigger than my other pair of Hoda. I used to wear a Hoka size 7 but got these pair for 6. 5. However, the shoes are about 1 '' larger than the size 7 shoes. Do n't really like the look on my feet so I have to return them.

Great shoe and Solid quality. Used daily for running and small trails. It ’s honestly my new favorite shoe. I wish they made them in more colors. I even purchased the all black for work as LEO and use them daily averaging 20- 25k steps a day. As someone with a history of foot problems, I have not experienced anything from these shoes that made the problems worse.

I love Merrell Moab ’s, wear them every day and have 5 pair. But as hot as this summer has been, I wanted a pair of lighter weight shoes. I started with Merrell styles, but had no luck getting a good fit for my problem feet—a neuroma and plantar fasciitis on one foot and a bunion on the other. I also tried styles from all the highly rated shoes for walking, including those with gel insoles. They all bothered my neuroma, and the gels were so bouncy they made me feel a little unsteady on my feet. So I went back to Merrell and tried the speed solo, ordered up a half size, and finally found my fit! The shoes seemed narrow at first, but after wearing them a couple of times, they ’ re as comfortable as my Moab ’s.

I love these hiking shoes! I took them hiking in the PNW, and they were very supportive and still held up really well on very rocky trails. They especially felt very good descending on hikes, they did not hurt your toes like a lot of other shoes/boots do. I ordered a half size up, but they are pretty true to size.
