As someone with a lot of foot problems, finding shoes that are comfortable, supportive, and that look nice had been a challenge. After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. I ’ ve been wearing Merrill shoes since I was in the Army. I got this particular model in 2010 and it felt like I was Spider- Man humping up and down the Hindu Kush. I also recommend the chameleons! So now that it ’s been ten years I picked up going for long walks and was wearing tennis shoes. I went back to these and love them! The only issue is my left foot toe bed was rubbing but it ’s an uncommon issue and only happened AFTER my eight miles during a cool down mile. I previously did ten miles in these and had no issue! [ So far I have hiked with these shoes a little over 20mi. I hiked Mount Monadnock two days each day around 10mi. They are very lightweight while being pretty supportive. I definitely felt confident using these shoes on the Spellman, Pompelly,& Marlboro Trails. Spellman being the steepest trail on the mountain, I had no problem climbing off trail on the steep granite slabs. I was able to use the flat toe part of the boot to to support myself while standing on small cracks in the rock like I was wearing a climbing shoe. It was awesome! I felt like a kid at the playground! Terrain was mostly dry, but there were a couple wet spots that the Megagrip sole did perform well on. Temperature was in the low 70 ’ sF. The only negative I have about the boot, is that it does not breathe well. My feet did sweat considerably wearing a lightweight synthetic sock. Both days I took my shoes and socks off at the summit and removed the Ortholite insoles to dry for a half hour in the sun and wind. The inside of the boots didn ’ t fully dry out. The Ortholight insole mostly dried, because they are very thin. Inersoles could be a little thicker to provide more cushioning, but overall my feet felt good at the end of both hikes. These are aggressive trails for breaking in new shoes, but they felt pretty good out of the box, so I went for it. I think these boots will be best for shoulder season hikes and hikes taking you above tree line. Can ’ t wait to take them to Mount Washington NH!

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I 've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you ca n't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and do n't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Excellent boots for summer to fall hiking that will last.

I ’ ve worn Salomon boots for years. Since they dont have the older model x ultra mid boots. I decided to try these ones out. They look nice and seem to have all the features from the previous model. However, they have an uncomfortable pressure point located on the inside middle part of both boots. Which makes it uncomfortable to wear as soon as you wear them. [ These boots are amazing! They ’ re incredibly warm, and I love how quick and effortless it is to put them on. My foot just slides right in. They also feel super durable, so I ’ m very confident they ’ ll last me a while. The only minor downside is the fit. I went half a size up( normally I 'm a size 10, bought 10. 5), but they still feel a bit tight on one foot. It ’s not a deal- breaker, but I wish they offered a wide option for this model. Overall, though, they ’ re fantastic boots!

[ i have used these for almost 2 years, basically everyday, doing all types of side work, nature walks, pest control, yard work, snow plow you name it. they clean easy. The water- proofness of them is amazing, along with the insulation, laces held up, high quality boot. ive worn these in warm/hot weather as well. they do not over heat my feet. everything about these boots is a 10/10. just wish they would break so i could buy new ones:)

100% the warmest, best quality, and best looking boots you can get for under$ 150( or even more!). Spent a week combing the internet for good quality boots that didn ’ t make me look like I was either a boomer going hiking, a construction worker, or a 3rd grader at recess. Best money I ’ ve spent in years, and best overall reviews I ’ ve found online too. Very thankful I went with these and excited to wear them a lot this winter. Size 12 I am a solid size 12 and like my shoes on the slightly- snugger side. Not tight but not a ton of wiggle room. These boots fit just like that.

Very spacious without being oversized. This is my first wide toebox shoe and it did feel a bit too large at first. However, after putting on other sneakers, I felt my toes constrict in the sneaker and craved the extra space. The Jasper Suede has become my new favorite, casual shoe. The cushioning is incredibly comfortable as well and paired with the wide toebox, the comfort is unmatched. I 've also received many compliments. After a horrible experience with the migrating foam in the footbed of a previous leather- upper Merrell, this was a gamble... but so far it's been great. Incredible cushioning, great fit. A few unexplainable hard spots on the uppers noticeable only on steep side- hills. Now on to the desert sand.

I 've always loved Merrell shoes and I do love the Moab Speed 2s I purchased and if I was to change anything it would be I should 've ordered a half- size bigger, I ordered a 9. 5 but should 've gone for a size 10, they are a little tight but I think over time they will stretch. They do n't cause discomfort unless I tie my shoes really tight so I avoid doing that. The only other thing is that the laces are too short I find.
