I always have knee soreness with other sneakers, but I wore these all 7 days of our trip and did n't have any knee pain whatsoever! I 'm so impressed. They are water resistant which is a huge plus, they wiped clean and look new even after going through a couple downpours. The tread was sturdy on slippery cobblestone streets, too. This fit true to size in length but do run a little narrow and will feel tighter in the toe box. I buy the same size as a regular pair of Air Max 90s. I bought the shoes because we own 2 large Golden Doodles who need to go outside or be walked several times a day. Sometimes we run. These shoes have gone thru mud, snow, puddles, and more, and never missed a beat. My feet stayed dry and I just rinsed the shoes upon returning inside and good as new. I normally wear a 7. 5, but sized up to an 8 and the fit is perfect. I really like the extra room in the toebox, so I can wiggle my toes. However, the shoes do tend to run a bit narrow, so just a heads up if you have a wide foot. The shoes easily accomodated my orthotic once I pulled out the insole provided.( Hey, Nike, these shoes should have a unglued, easily removable, insole!) Overall, I am thrilled with my purchase.

After trying similar LL Bean and Timberland shoes, I finally got the Moab 3 from Merrell. After 4 years of daily use and frequent outdoors activity including outings with my son's scout troop, the upper started to crack where my foot flexes. The sole and lining was still in good condition with reasonable wear. With a rainy camping trip looming, I got the replacement pair and have been just as happy with the new shoes as I had been with the old ones. I was searching for a comfortable shoe that would clear the metal detector at work, and these were recommended to me. I did n't need to break them in at all, they are n't too stiff. I can stand for long periods of time without my feet hurting. They appear to be really well made. Best of all( to me), they clear the metal detector.

Great fit and comfort right out of the box. We need more solid colors in the moab 3 line. Brown or gray gets kind of boring. The tach line looks great.
